I am quite enjoying reading these 'game comparison' threads at the moment.. it's not your usual "playground" nonsense.

Maybe we can have more of these with seperate threads... it also encourages us more 'open minded' persons to try new games on other formats?

Any thoughts?

When all's said and done, I still think the 'beeper' is one of the charms the Speccy had which I liked. The 128k with AY is fine, but if I wanted what the 128k apparently offered, I'd have got a CPC instead (thankfully I already had one anyway! :D ) Give me the 48k Speccy any day! :D

The Monkey Island games were funny, but I do remember a game on the school's BBC called 'Mape 3' or something (this was 15+ years ago when I was at middle school) and it was a kind of Cluedo text based type game. You could name the characters and rooms and I vaguely remember splitting my sides at on...

Re:

Everybody who bangs on about the C64's sound being better than the Speccy's....yes, better than the 48K Speccy's sound, but you obviously haven't heard much Speccy 128K music. Well I've heard a lot of Speccy 128K music, and it doesn't sound nearly as good as the SID to me. There are quite a few exc...

Obviously Speccy owners like yourself don't then...

Well I would say you'd be mad not to have at least tried ' It Came From The Desert ' (as featured in this month's RG) but I guess that was one of the first ones you tried if you hadn't already played it before. I won't bore you with the usual Monkey Island/Sensi/Lemmings obvious stuff (like you said...

Re:

I'm assuming that's "top 20 in sales" not "Top 20 in 'bestness'". So what you're saying is, "C64 owners were tasteless idiots who bought rotten games" . Sounds about right. TAG! You're it! Damn that wasn't as fun as it was back in the playground. I'm glad some of us grew up and got away from the pl...

I tried to keep out of this, but it was too tempting not to! :D I make no secret of my love for all of the 'big 3' 8-Bit home computers, as well as various others also, so I thought I'd compare my favourite game (Dragon's Lair: Escape From Singe's Castle) on all 3 of the main home computers. First u...
