I see the third one is not getting many votes, is that 'cos it was not very good, I can't remember, wasn't that the one with the big nemesis thingy shadowing you throughout the game? I'm actually playing this right now . I played (and loved) all the RE games except RE3. Don't know why really. ...

Because it's more like an FPS than an action/adventure game. Yeah, and that's why RE4 can't really be compared to its predecessors. It's too different. I think one should draw the line after Resident Evil Zero since it was the last RE that had the classic gameplay. RE4 opens a new category, not yet...

2. Ghost chaser densei Thanks for that. Just finished it in the 2 player mode. Great game! I especially liked the Japanese insanity factor (flying cars, robots, Neptune like bosses, angels, transformations, etc). It's funny, the main guy (the all round generic blond muscle hero) is called "Makai" w...

As for Hard Target, it was good but pretty ridiculous at times. What ever happened to that tough black cop lady, and who in the world is this old distillery guy who helps Van Damme out with his bow?? That was Uncle Duvee (Or something!) - awesome character in the film! With his big moustache, I rem...

I think the original metal gear solid on PS1 had a guy with his arse out at some point that was either removed or blurred out for uk and america. Silent hill 1 had some bits with the sckool kids cut too i think, I only played the japanese version though so have to buy a uk copy to confirm. More rec...

Sorry about my sloppy English, I actually wanted to emphasize on the character development of the two mentioned. Because they seem to come out of nowhere just to vanish suddenly very soon after.

alot of stuff in jap games would be removed from western release due to fear of lawsuits, some examples Snatcher *from wikipedia again*- The clientele at the Outer Heaven night club, which were originally parodies of popular sci-fi characters, were changed to Konami characters to avoid any potential...

One of the most famous, of course, is the switch-a-roo between the 'boss' character names in SF2, namely because Capcom feared action from a certain ear-chewing boxer... (well, to be fair he hadn't chewed any ears at that point) I see. So that is why. Haha, to me the "M" in M. Bison always meant "M...

Version Differences

Sometimes I'm really wondering about the changes made on games when introduced in other countries. Just today I read that Biohazard is called Resident Evil in the western world because the heavy metal band Biohazard has a copyright for their name in Europe and the US - simple enough. But how about t...

It was John Woo's directorial debut in America after his success in Hong Kong. It's also available in the director's cut version which included extra footages believed to be 20 minutes long. It seems every HK director who comes to the US has to do a film with Van Damme at first (as some sort of tes...

I'm a big fan of PlayStation FMVs. The intros to Tekken 2, Soul Blade, Resi 2, Final Fantasy VIII and R4 have already been mentioned, so here go some more classics: Xenogears http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KyVRSim-fQI Racing Lagoon http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aV7DWgjjTOQ Parasite Eve http://uk.yout...

JogCon is one of the best controllers ever for a racing game I've used in the home. There's a clear relationship between steering wheel and jog control, and the force feedback is both strong and believable. Why it never took off is beyond me. Pick one up with RR Type 4 - its not expensive if you do...
