Re: Incoming Konami collections

Thread Bump (and not best news i've heard, as have this on Pre-order): A key member of the original Silent Hill trilogy development team has expressed his disappointment at the state of the impending HD re-release of SH2 and 3. As reported by Destructoid, Masahiro Ito, who served as art director on ...

Re: Atari Jaguar Advice

And...Whilst Defender 2000 might have had it's share of factors outside Jeff's control, looking back at his earlier attemp to update Defender....THIS (taken from orig.ST Format Defender 2000 review): '(Ripple dissolve). Readers with a long memory might recall Arc, Atari's one-time software publishin...

Re: Atari Jaguar Advice

As for Atari reviewers rating Jaguar games higher than everyone else, far from it: The Atari Times Unlike Tempest 2000, Defender 2000 adds too much to the original formula. This is a case where you can't throw in new music, graphics, and sounds and expect a great game to spew forth. Don't get me wro...

Re: Atari Jaguar Advice

Not slating him per say, just had very high expectations after his own comments on how game was shaping up and after the excellence of Tempest 2000. Do find it bit odd that he'd knock the works of others on XBLA, just because his own had far lower sales than hoped for. Defender clones i played a lot...

Re: What games (if any) would you say are perfect?

Best way to describe a perfect game? How about: 'There may well have been far better games since, but nothing will ever be made that could ever take fuller advantage of what could be done at the time'. I wonder if that'd possibly make Elite on the Beeb the most 'perfect' game ever made then. It's u...

Re: Atari Jaguar Advice

Or...we could just put it all down to yet (another) forum 'blip' and get back on with some decent debate and the like....?.

Water under the bridge and all that.More attention it and other incidents get, more likely some loony toon seems to want to make a name for themselves.

However he later went on to say: ' Minter said, "Not seeing a lot of reason to continue even trying to make games, at this point, when a remake of Frogger, one of the worst games in the history of old arcade games, can outsell Space Giraffe that we put so much love and effort into, by more than ten ...

Defender 2000 is by Jeff Minter who has never made a sh!t game.-This by my fellow poster, Jagfest, got me thinking (all most created new thread). Been a fan of Jeff's work from the early days, find reading interviews and articles he's written very intersting.Anywho, point here, Jeff, in interview wi...

Re: If the Engine got its official release..

Think initally it WOULD have done well, hype was there, lot of coverage from magazines like C+VG, Raze, The Games machine etc, but Sega had the key support of E.A, plus it's arcade division and internal teams to look for killer software, this before Sonic hit...Pc Kid vs Sonic...... No doubt Sega wo...
