Re: Best puzzle games

You can't do a feature on Puzzle game without mentioning the Granddaddy of them all: 'The Fool's Errand'. It is 25 years old and I still love playing it now. Never did get to finish it!

Retro Gamer features in a Danny Wallace Novel

I have just picked up a new book by Danny Wallace called 'Charlotte Street', it's your Mike Galyle, Tony Parsons style 'Bloke Lit' and very good so far. The best friend of the main character runs a retro video games store in London and there are lots of good retro game references, including some qui...

Re: telltale games humble bundle sale!

Bought both of these Bundles the other day (Tell Tale and 8). Altogether it cost me $11 (£7.25) for more games than I can count, many of which I have wanted for ages. With the £89.00 price tag of NextGen games approaching I can see me sticking with PC and Retro Gaming. I must say Thomas was Alone is...

Re: Bioshock Infinite

Have to agree, opening hour is possibly the finest hour of gaming I have ever had. I just want to explorer; look and listening to everything. I won't spoil it, but a float goes past and I just stopped and watched it for 5 minutes. It really takes you over the rainbow.

Re: Bioshock Infinite

I agree with most readers; loved the first one, liked the second one. I thought I would wait for the Steam sale before buying 'Infinite', but I watched this review yesterday evening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jchIi-vR_js and can honestly say it changed my mind from 'I'll get it when it's cheap'...

Re: your top 3 gaming tunes

1. Outrun - (Arcade) - Magical Sound Shower
2. Led Storm - (Amiga) - All, but especially the in-between levels music
3. Delta (C64) - Main Theme

I think from the number of comments the music from Outrun is something special.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 113 - Feedback Thread

I really enjoyed this months Future Classic. I don't know how I missed it upon release as I was a great fan of JRPGs at the time. Will definitely have to check that one out. It would be nice to see a feature on PS2 RPG 'Hidden Gems', I have been looking on YouTube at some of the US/JP only 'Shining'...

Re: From the forum issue 114 Platformers

Probably a little bit modern for most readers, but for me original 'Jak and Daxter' is the best looking most fun platform of all time and about the only game I have seen through to 100% completion. Just need to get a new PS3 so I can grab the HD trilogy!

Re: Games you quit at the last level.

Alundra is the only game I can really think of. The final boss had a nightmare puzzle bit i just couldn't solve. Same here, just started replaying it on my Android Tablet to see if I can beat it with save states. I remember spending nearly an hour fighting a dragon or something and then it died and...

Re: From the Forum issue 113 Amiga

Wow, this really is a hard question -there are so many. I'll go for 'Kick Off II' for the many, many nights spent playing it until the dawn in my University years.
