Re: What are you currently playing?

Gandalf Deluxe and Old Tower are insane! Had to get them running on the actual hardware through my DivIDE to prove they were capable of running on a real speccy.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Ive been playing a bit of Spectrum homebrew recently & it's amazing how far some folk have managed to push the machine. A bit late to the party (about a decade I believe) but I was playing Batteries not Precluded, really clever idea where it's sort of like Micro Machines...but you're playing against...

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

The way I'm wired, I could live to 100 years old & still not consider anything post Megadrive/SNES era "retro"

I'm permanently stuck thinking 8-bit is the recent past, 16-bit is the present, everything after is just for the kids & I'm still waiting for the Stone Roses' 2nd album.

Re: Battle Princess Madelyn

Rats! I thought this was supposed to have been coming to the Wii U, I guess it just wouldn't have been worth their while.

Looks amazing.

**EDIT**

Apparently a Wii U version will follow...will be picking that up for sure!!! :D

Help! Remembering an 80s UK sitcom.

It was literally called "Help!" & was about 3 unemployed Scousers. I have never seen it repeated, released on VHS or DVD or any YouTube clips at all. I've found the odd sketchy bit of info about it online (for example in my muddled memory, I always thought Craig Charles was in it...he wasn't!) Anywa...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

True, I remember my parents playing the likes of Space Invaders & Breakout in the early 80s, they'd have been in their late 30s early 40s...but would never pick up a joystick or joypad since.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 188

Love seeing the coverage for Arcade Club & Play Blackpool, the North West of England is the home of retro! ;-) Now all we need is an article about Fab Cafe & Prinny's fun Nights of Gaming. Really appreciate getting the calendar, it's a really nice bonus. On the subject of Xmas covers, probably a bit...

Re: From the forum: Issue 189 - Sonic Adventure

The 3D Sonic games have a pretty bad rap, largely thanks to 2 or 3 stinkers, all the other games tend to get lumped in with them.

Sure it's not aged as well as some games from it's era, but I loved it at the time & there's still plenty of fun to be had with the likes of Sonic Adventure & it's sequel.

Re: PC Classic - new games console based on PC

I genuinely thought this was a joke.

I thought we'd reached peak "crowdfunded reimagined retro gaming device." with the Ataribox, but looks like there's mileage in these things yet.

Re: Saboteur on Nintendo Switch

Just watched the trailer, it looks like it is just the Spectrum game.

Is it that or a remake? Because as great a game as it is, £6.30 seems like a lot of money for a digital version of a 35 year old Spectrum game. :?

Same to the both of you! Really felt like one of the classic events. Very relaxed & loads of games to play.

Re: Play Expo goes back to Black(pool), skips Manchester this year

Just on way back. Top top weekend. Well done to all the organisers.

Was great to see a few old faces & a few folk I'd never got round to seeing before.

I think I ended up playing far more games than usual. Definitely the best event in years.

Hipster Megadrive.

Looks like it'll blow all those Atgames emulation machines out of the water at any rate.
