Re: GPD Win

I've got one eye on these. I borrowed a GPD XD from a friend for a while and it was okay. However, it's all about the controls for me and on classic games I play better on my PSP Go than on the XD. Am hoping the next revision makes the controls a bit better. Not tried a Win though. I like the idea o...

This! I still don't understand how Steve Turner managed to make Magnetron so bad.

Re: games where the original was best

Donkey Kong for sure. I never rated any of the games that came after. Renegade on the Speccy. People loved Target Renegade but it was insultingly easy and the less said about Renegade 3 the better, unless everything you say is a swear word. Syndicate is a good shout. I didn't like Syndicate Wars at ...

Re: Comedy moments that have really made you laugh

The Good Place - The Trolley Problem episode where Chidi does the trolley problem for real had me in absolute hysterics, even had to pause it at one point to try and stop laughing. Santa Clarita Diet - A scene that really tickled me was when Joel and Gary are having an argument and Sheila mentions ...

Re: Movies that never got games

30 Days of Night. I'd be into that. A survival game in the cold where you have to survive for a month while vamps outside absolutely wreck you if they see you. That'd be good. Loved the film, even if the main baddie looked a bit like the singer out of Pet Shop Boys.

Re: Shenmue 1&2 HD

I'm interested to see how they hold up now.

The physical edition is pre-ordering for sub £24 with some retailers. That's decent.

Re: Achievements/Trophies question

The PS3 game on PS+ this month doesn't have trophies. Cheers both, just one of those things that randomly popped in to my head. I recently started Condemned so shall have a check on the total. It's a bit of a nightmare to max out. You have to do two runs (one melee, one no melee) and the collectable...

Re: From The Forum 181_: Favourite Street Fighter game

Probably Street Fighter 4. It's easy to forget how impressive it was when it came out, thanks mainly to Capcom milking it to death.

Re: Mini Sega Megadrive anyone?!

I don't see the point of these things. Including the mini SNES.

I've got a bunch of devices that emulate these games. What I don't have is an infinite number of HDMI sockets on my TV. I'd rather stick with the Pi as it does it all.

Re: Billy Mitchell high scores wiped

Yep, King of Kong 2 is going to be a very interesting film when it comes out. I'm a bit gutted in so far as I really respected him for doing the first perfect game on Pac-Man. That is so stupidly hard to do. He did it 99 and when Jon Studley did it a year or two ago he was the 8th person ever. That'...

Re: Achievements/Trophies question

A quick question about 360/PS3 achievements/trophies. Does anyone know if there were any games that didn't include them or was it straight off the bat with them being included? Also, did games tend to have more and more of them as releases went on? Just wondering is all. the only weirdness at the s...

Shenmue 1&2 HD

It's happening. Both games coming to PS4/XB1/PC. Each game has a choice of voice tracks too. I loved Shenmue a lot. I'm not sure how it'll fair all these years later with a new audience though. I gave up on Shenmue 2 because I wanted an English voice track and I didn't like the setting (I preferred ...

Re: Billy Mitchell high scores wiped

Realistically, they should probably wipe out nearly all their long standing records too, because it's been demonstrated that their refereeing system was flawed and open to corruption. Everything on there is basically Russian athletics before they commission tested for steroids. Being on the TG lead...

Yeah, it's not good. I've not seen any other reviews to see if others had a different opinion. The only review on Metacritic is mine.

Rogue Aces - did you like Luftrausers? This is better.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

It's made me love Drew Barrymore quite a bit. THIS. It’s not quite up there with SCD but I’m watching The Good Place on Netflix and that’s great also. Takes a few episodes to really get going but each one is 25 mins or so so it’s not a chore and it has a couple of amazing bit part characters in it.
