Re: top 12 martial arts games

Not sure I can pull out 12 but Fist is still great and super playable. IK+ is fun for a minute but gets very repetitive for me and I absolutely hate the minigame in it. Final Fight impressed the hell out of me in the 80s and it is good but it's too much of a credit feeder. Punisher is my favourite C...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Upgrade.

Brilliant film. Watch it immediately. You won't be disappointed.

Also watched Deadpool 2 and Jumanji remake. Both were pretty good.

Re: What are you currently playing?

My little website is getting swamped with review codes so I'm playing some random stuff right now. Aces of the Luftwaffe: Squadron - the original AofL was dreadful. An iOS game ported directly to the PS4 with no changes at all. The follow up is much better. A decent vertically scrolling shoot 'em up...

Re: Nintendo shut down Emuparadise.

Nintendo need to concentrate on the Switch and try to get back the momentum they've lost with it.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Resident Evil 5 on the 360. Currently on chapter 3 and it just seems to be a bit dull and laboured. Cannot quite put my finger on it but while it has been playable it hasn't quite been enjoyable. Are you playing it on your own or co-op? I tried it on my own and found it clunky, boring and I was con...

Re: Play Expo goes back to Black(pool), skips Manchester this year

Fun event.

Was surprised at how well AvP on the Jag has aged. The joypad wasn’t pleasant tho.

I was playing Donkey Kong when the Mario Bros cab next to it started to smell of electrical burning. Worrying.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I was close to selling mine but I’m glad I didn’t. Albeit only because the potential it has an emulation machine is so positive. I’m already running arcade and SNES games on it. It’s not as handy to carry as the PSP Go but I think it’ll be more versatile over time. In terms of real games, Dead Cells...

Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

I feel a bit let down by this game. The gameplay lacks the risk vs reward element that made Space Giraffe so good, the difficulty level spikes hard on certain stages and graphically it’s a bit of a mess leading to plenty of ‘what killed me’ moments. It also seems to have toned down Jeff’s usual humo...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Also very much enjoying a new horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up called Earth Atlantis that has some really unique visuals. Got sent this for review today. The visuals are something else. The game got a bit dull long before I finished the main Quest mode. Kind of liked it overall. No bloody idea w...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Donkey Kong is a very nice surprise. I'll buy that.

Carcassonne was the only thing that really excited me on the Direct. I love that game.

Mario Party looks decent.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I was waiting on E3 to see if I should keep or sell my Switch. Now I just want to throw it in the bin. That was a terrible presentation. Worst one I've seen during E3.

Re: From The Forum issue 183 - Tetris: Best puzzler ever?

Tetris is good but gets a bit too intense later on and is super repetitive. Chime (Xbox 360) takes the concept and makes it a whole lot more interesting.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Im not sure how that works, but wont they just patch firmware and games to check for it being connected to the USB port? I know the Tegra exploit can't be stopped, but won't they stop something as simple as a USB connected device? I'm no expert but the claim is that you can boot into the custom fir...
