Re: Saboteur on Nintendo Switch

Makes me wonder if a new version of Strike Force Cobra could work? They Speccy game was pretty good, but it suffered hideous slowdown at times. Blimey! That's a bit obscure. I had that on a compilation but never really got anywhere with it. Thankfully the compilation had Quazatron on it so that kep...

Re: Saboteur on Nintendo Switch

Is it that or a remake? Because as great a game as it is, £6.30 seems like a lot of money for a digital version of a 35 year old Spectrum game. :? Im guessing the original was a few pence more. I never really rated Saboteur. It looked good and I always tended to get on with games from Durrell but t...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I've been having a great time in Spintires:Mudrunners. In my 35 years of gaming I’ve never played a game that is so unpleasant to play. It’s a horrible game environment, it actively hurts your right trigger finger as you desperately try to get any speed going, it couldn’t be more brown, it explains...

Re: Where did you get yours?

Speccy 48+ - Dixon’s in Tooting. Went in to get a C16 because my mate hate one but the guy there, nay the hero, talked mum into getting a Spectrum. Amiga 1200 - a shop in Morden called Agamic or something. Bought it and then he said it’d arrive in a week. Argh! Came with four games, one of which was...

Re: Backwards Compatability

I wasn't hugely bothered about b/c but a few weeks back I got to spend some time with an Xbox One and so I signed into Xbox Live for the first time in years and it's quite nice having access to 100+ of my old games. I can see the appeal. PS5 needs to sort this out really. If the Xbox One had launche...

Re: From the forum: 188

Tenchu. The story, the music and atmosphere were unparalleled at the time and stealth gameplay has never been as rewarding since. It was the first game where verticality mattered in so far as you could grapple up a wall, stalk an enemy guard from above, roll down behind him and slit his throat befor...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

THE PREDATOR - hmm, lazy and slightly clinical, a load of assumption jumping, and things that weren't explained at all! sure the humour between the loons and traegar and family is funny, and there is a lot of laughs even from the predator ..... homages to the terminator and jurassic park get notice...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Great, more JRPGs. Where are the Assassin's Creeds, Call of Dutys, GTAs? A lot of Switch fans will be like 'we don't care about those games, the Switch is all about the unique experiences' but if Far Cry 5 got announced today for Switch they'd spaff themselves dead. Carcassonne and Katamari will do...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Saw The Meg. Didn't rate it. It played it far too safe. There was barely any carnage. The shark barely does anything. It felt like it had been censored. A bit like the first Resident Evil film. Turning away to avoid any gore. Watched Ghost Stories last night. A UK horror portmanteau. Bad acting and ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Getting towards the end of Final Fight Streetwise now and I can see this double escort mission potentially breaking me. It's possible to have a bunch of huge enemies swamp the two NPC's you are supposed to be protecting and kill them within seconds. Worst still, these enemies don't flinch or stagge...

Re: top 12 martial arts games

Not sure I can pull out 12 but Fist is still great and super playable. IK+ is fun for a minute but gets very repetitive for me and I absolutely hate the minigame in it. Final Fight impressed the hell out of me in the 80s and it is good but it's too much of a credit feeder. Punisher is my favourite C...

Upgrade.

Brilliant film. Watch it immediately. You won't be disappointed.

Also watched Deadpool 2 and Jumanji remake. Both were pretty good.

Re: What are you currently playing?

My little website is getting swamped with review codes so I'm playing some random stuff right now. Aces of the Luftwaffe: Squadron - the original AofL was dreadful. An iOS game ported directly to the PS4 with no changes at all. The follow up is much better. A decent vertically scrolling shoot 'em up...
