A guy in school claimed that Crash magazine came out weekly and that he bought it.

He then downgraded the lie to 'they reprint it weekly but with mistakes corrected'. Couldn't explain why he bought each edition.

But then again he thought Amaurote was pronounced 'Amor-a-tite'.

Echochrome - inventive, beautiful but just not any fun. At all.

'Revelations' by Killing Joke. Recorded in 1983 and it still sounds fresher, edgier and more inventive than anything since.

For me it's not about modern vs retro but rather certain genres that I'm not really enjoying. It just happens that one of them is first-person shooters. COD4, Halo3 and Bioshock left me cold. In fact nearly every 'big' release in the last year has turned out to be fairly average. Yet I can get a lot...

dunno if I'm allowed to list my own site but... www.peoww.co.uk - whilst our reviews are all current, our features section is mostly retro-based. lots of old classics in there and a series of features for Speccy fans. The Gaming Dead Bringing It Home (speccy coin-op conversions) ZX Fight Club

Emulators are the best thing about computers.

I know it's irks the purists but take a Speccy emulator. All the games with instant loading, a better keyboard, save states, clearer graphics. It's better on so many levels.

I do most of my emulating on a PSP though now.
