Re: Darran - you seen this? Its a bit naughty !

Those three are all taken down. For those of us who hadn't seen this thread until now, what were they? Fake issues, I presume? What kinda prices were they, how did they look etc?

Re: When TV & film get games wrong!

We didn't really need the whole script quoted.... I think Shaun of the Dead added in these over-the-top sci-fi " SECOND PLAYER JOINS GAME " voices to Fifa. It's been a couple of years since I've seen it. I remember one ad from about three years where this kid is playing an original Gameboy and his m...

Re: Can we have less Nintendo love for a while

I think Retro Gamer should just publish a single, 5000-page issue containing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Then nobody will be complaining.

Re: I played and loved X but never played Y

Loved Halo 1 (see avatar), loved Halo 2, didn't touch Halo 3 despite my brother owning three copies of it, and have completely lost track of the franchise. Played Grandia, bought my original Playstation just to play it in fact, and loved it, then a year or two later bough Grandia 2 and didn't even p...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

I completed Ocarina of Time during the week (except for six heart pieces - can't find anywhere damn it) and moved straight onto Zelda II. I was delighted to find that many of Ocarine of Time's characters were named after towns in Zelda II. All sages so far, so I'm assuming I'll find towns for all si...

Re: Issue 90 feedback thread

Alright if you like your Nintendo thick and fast, not my cup of tea though. I don't think it's an edition I'll be flicking through again. To keep it topical, Shaun Southern could be Lionel Messi's old man. In fairness, there isn't a speck of Nintendo in here other than the Zelda stuff, which is sur...

Re: Issue 90 feedback thread

Haven't read everything yet, but between Zelda this month and Sonic next month I'm pretty ably catered for. The Zelda stuff is particularly nicely done. I never got into the Crash Bandicoot games - not sure if I've even played one - but I've always been fascinated by him, as an intended Playstation ...

Re: Who you gonna call?!?

Peter. Always has been, ever since I was a kid running around with my bright blue plastic Proton Pack with yellow foam-rubber proton stream. Not sure how I'd feel about a Ghostbusters 3. They'll need to change it a good bit more than they changed Ghostbusters 2; they basically used exactly the same ...

Re: What was your first "wow" moment

I'd been playing games for years by this point, but getting chased by the whale in the first stage of Sonic Adventure on my lovely, packaging-scented Dreamcast was a whole new level of videogame experience for me. Every other generational shift had been taken in stride and everything had been fully ...

Re: Issue 100.

Just curious, but given that it's almost a year away, has the staff put any serious thought into it yet? I remember Issue 50 did a lot and it would be difficult not to copy some of it, and I agree that a Top 100 list would be cliche but not necessarily bad. And really, after 100 issues, is there any...

Re: From the Forum Zelda Love

Zelda: A Link to the Past because for the first time (for me anyway), a game had incorporated realistic weather (rain) properly into the mix. The rain drops accompanied by the sounds were fantastic. I delayed helping Zelda by taking my time exploring the land. I also enjoyed the sound of walking up...

Re: From the Forum Issue 91

Sonic 2's still my favourite. On the one hand it featured great levels like Mystic Cave and Oil Ocean, it introduced Super Sonic and had a great soundtrack. Its also the one that interests me the most due to all the stuff that didn't make it into the game- Wood Zone, the mysterious Genocide City zo...

Re: Forum Question for RG92 - Let's dress Darran up...

I voted NiGHTS, because I found that option to be startlingly original. Like myself, apparently, because I'm the only one who's gone for it so far.

Re: Hot Topic - Best Treasure Game

Dynamite Headdy is my favourite Treasure game, but of the ones listed, Gunstar Heroes and Ikaruga are the only ones I've played. Gunstar gets it.
