Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

I went from a Dragon 32 (December '82) to an Atari 130XE (with a Floppy Drive) (December '86), neither blunted my love for computers, gaming or the fact there were other more 'popular' machines available. I used to buy The One Amiga magazine even though I never owed an Amiga back in the day. I just ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

Yeah 15 quid is pretty good value isn't it. I'd love to know why the 6128 one is twice the price mind?!

Re: Questions for Stoo Cambridge

Issues are planned out in advance and then the writers get the Purchase Order for a set number of pages. In this case it was short notice that they needed an interview piece, I suggested Stoo and we just kept talking... Fair enough, from a business perspective it makes sense, just a shame lots of "...

It's In The Chair, so I only get six...
I'm always curious about why articles have a set number of pages. In instances like this where you have a lot of great content would there ever be a disscussion about getting extra pages and holding back another small article to another issue?

With so many green screen CPCs sold, it's inevitable that there would have been a fair few users who invested in the modulator to play on a colour TV.
Yeah this is a good point, I wonder how much the modulator cost?

So, the interview lasted 90 minutes and the transcript is 13,000 words... now to cram as much of the interesting stuff into the article...
Looking forward to it, better to have too much that too little :)

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

Loved this issue, the Bitmap Bros. article really makes me want to read the Read Only Memory Bitmap Bros. book whch I have but have not got round to yet. Making of Gods also added to to that need to read the book. Bounty Bob Strikes Back is a great little game, although it's a shame Bill Hogue decid...

Yeah, no issue with the F word - I just hope the day never arrives when it's acceptable to use the C*NT word!
Why is F**K okay but not C**T? They are just 4 letters on a page. You'd not survive in our house for long my then, my GF uses the C-word more than I do, she is Scottish mind! :)

Re: Thank you so much for your great magazine!...

Yup, I love Retro Gamer magazine. I don't like 100% of the content, but honestly that's my problem not the magazine. There is always something in every issue that is a great read. Keep it up guys.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

I think adding the Movie one is a good idea, gives a flavour of the time. Speaking of the charts, how are they worked out given they are for the whole month, when the charts are usually compiled weekly?

Glad it made you smile. The interview he did with Jeff Minter for a Big K cover story is definitely worth a read too while you're there!
Yeah, I've downloaded all the Big Ks now so will have a read of that interview.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

This is the first issue in ages where i've flicked through it and nothing has jumped out at me as a must read. I'll still enjoy reading it, but not Dog's Life which is really not something I'd expect to find in RG. Started reading this now and I have to say I really enjoyed the Tony Takoushi interv...
