Re: From The Forum issue 180 - Favourite Bitmap Brothers Game

Has to be Speedball 2. Sounded great, looked great and played great, a true classic of the era and the sports genre.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 178

A great issue, expecially loved the MUD article (although the dark green captions on a black background for the screenshots were hard to read) and the interview with Jane Whittaker. And just to even up the paper quality issue, I never even notice it.

Re: Retro Gamer - ISSUE 174.

Also on the subject of the swearing on the cover. Honestly, I don't understand why people get so worked up about this stuff. It's not even the actual word. Belgium!

Wasn't there a silver label SR one?
Not according to the article, unless the SR "silver label" range is different from the normal SR range. I'm no expect though, I never owned a Spectrum and I just read the article last night.

Re: Retro Gamer - ISSUE 174.

An enjoyable issue but I have spotted one error: in the article on Sinclair Research, it says that the Ultimate game, Tranz Am, was only released on cartridge but it was actually released on cassette as well. It was one of the first games I bought for my Spectrum and I've still got it in the garage...

Re: Retro Gamer 172 - With Super Play Magazine

I don't post on here very often but had to chime in say what a great issue this is. So many good articles to read; PC Engine, Moon Patrol, Mayhem in Monster Land, Best Speccy Games and the list goes on.

Re: Suddenly having problems receiving new issues! :(

I once had an American Basketball Magazine turn up 14 months after it should have, how that got lost and eventually forwarded on I can't imagine!

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 162

Just to be really pedantic (not in an annoying way, but I figure if we're fact checking I'd point it out :D), you've got one of the baddies cars as a Porsche 959 when it's a 911 (variant 930). I think the Internet Game Cars Database can clear things up (I didn't even know this site existed until 10 ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 161

My subs copy turned up yesterday :)

I'd much rather have Horace as the main cover picture vs Pokemon, but that's just me showing my age!

Re: Issue 159 awesome cover

First thing I thought when I opened up my subs copy was how terrible the cover was :) Not that it makes any difference to my enjoyment of Retro Gamer though, but it just goes to show one man's delight is another man's disaster. Hall of The Things was a highlight for me in this issue, I somehow total...

Re: Which Company Profiles would you like to see?

It doesn't help there isn't an easy to use Dragon Emulator. I know there's XRoar, but it's not a patch on other 8-Bit Emus in terms of using a GUI to allow you to easily load files, save/load states etc. etc. Still it's better than any Oric Emulator that's out there I guess. Also I don't see why Mic...

Re: Official feedback for Issue 63

Tsk. I featured every single original level from the Archimedes, Dragon, BBC and Amstrad versions of the game. There are just more in the Oric game, no getting away from it. Anyway, who cares where they're from? It's about whether they're good and interesting levels or not. (Stand by, incidentally,...

Re: Which Company Profiles would you like to see?

I'd love to see a Microdeal one, as a Dragon User from 82-86 they were the only software house that consistantly produced software for the thing.
