Re:

At the end of the day it seems the vast vast majority of people were fine or okay with that article not to lose sleep over it. Its like a TV program when they have to apologise to the 12 people who complained about something in it, how about the other 9 million who watched it and were fine with it?...

Re:

I was working in Germany last week and discussed the article with several people who had grown up through the arcade / 8 bit time and they backed up what was in the article without any quibbles. Without knowing more about these people, I can't really judge why this is so, but my best guess would be...

Re:

OK, you guys are TOTALLY missing the point. What if someone (ie moi) had NEVER played a certain game (like Last Ninja)? What would we do then? Resort to immoral methods to get this stuff? I think not! Until it is proven that you CAN do that legally in America (or the UK for that matter), I ain't go...

So find the the laws then so we can stick them in Babelfish and find out for ourselves. You critisise for being opinionated and then only show opinions yoursef... If you can tell me how to find laws that don't exist, I will do so. There are laws setting up in very general terms that too much violen...

Re:

Nice issue, but hadn't you already done a feature on the Atari 2600? Yes  That'll teach me for not reading back issues ;) I enjoyed the new feature and don't mind the repetition - after all, retro stuff is a finite mass. So getting the low-down again was nice (and I like the new layout a lot)...

Re:

especially after discovering the poor guy selling it badly miscalculated the costs of shipping to mainland Europe, as he ended up paying close to 30 ukp for it and didn't ask me to more money. That sounds pretty excessive. Did he sent them air or surface? The latter's usually fairly affordable. I d...

Re:

The highest bidder lives in Norway. In which case, I shudder to think how much the seller's going to charge to ship the mag, seeing as their UK price is three quid. It'd probably work out cheaper for the Norwegian chap to take out a sub than buy a few issues like this. Unless Scandinavia rates as a...

Re:

If people like the idea of follow ups later, then I'm sure Darran wouldn't mind covering a previous country with new information. The next installment could cover the points you mentioned, more of the home computer side of things, and also look at East Germany before the reunification (assuming I c...

P.s. anyone know if those t-shirsts in the Sega Classics adverts are gonna be available anywhere? Well, I got myself a nice pink OutRun-shirt directly from Sega :) That said, to my knowledge they're strictly promotional material (as are vinyl LPs with chosen soundtrack bits of the game, something y...

smila—just call the subs line. See, that's the point: Why should I have to call? I really shouldn't have to! And it's not like we're asking a lot from Imagine, surely it can't be a lot of effort to get this small problem sorted out once and for all? Imagine has known about this particular niggle ...

Re:

All the 360 games either are or emulate games of old, hence their inclusion, but I can appreciate that not everyone will like it. I liked the inclusion of the games, especially the two pages on Cakey and Geometry Wars were great. And I agree that from the games covered, the Midway ones obviously ar...

Re:

Contra springs to mind, as it became "Probotector" and had robots to satisfy Germany's demands. Again, what I wrote in the article was correct. You're right about Contra, I forgot that one, and probably some others I simply haven't played back then. I don't want to appear hostile, but you only ment...

Re:

Hi. Do Germans mind playing WW2 games were they are nearly always portrayed as the enemy? Nope. Games like Medal of Honour are just as popular here as they are elsewhere, I think I haven't yet met anyone in their right mind who has complained he can't be the evil guy. One thing I should add about WW...
