Re: Dreamcast scart problems

I have a Japanese Saturn problem with my TV too. I only get a B&W picture.

Different setups fix it though - Having the Wii on standy plugged into one of my SCART blocks seems to do the trick. With a different SCART block I need to have my freeview box switched on - otherwise I get a B&W image.

Re: Dreamcast scart problems

I'm assuming your cable is OK - With a Dreamcast you will only get sound if the SCART socket on your TV doesn't support RGB. The socket labelled "EXT1" or "AV1" (if you have more than 1 socket) is usually the one that supports RGB - try that. If you only have 1 SCART socket on your TV you'll have to...

Re: Aqua Aqua Wetrix 2.0 (PS2)

The original version of this was on the N64 and it was great on that platform. There was a PC version too. The DC version has improved looks but the sounds weren't as good. The PS2 version tweaked the format a bit. I can vouch for all of the console versions if you are into puzzle games. It actually...

Re: Top ten games you've *never* played

Saturn Panzer Dragoon Saga - often cited as one of the Saturn's finest hours, but again rpg's aren't my favourite genre... played it,own it,its great,i assume a reason why alot of people havent played it is because its bloody expensive on ebay! I got this too - started playing it and hated it. I ga...

I'm still a fan of the N64 and while lots of the games might look a bit dodgy (which if we are honest can said of the Ps1 and Saturn as well), there are still those that have aged well. An s-video cable helps quite a bit too. Have a look at Mario Tennis, Rayman 2 , Virtua Pool 64(rarely used hires m...

I liked the turncoat mini bosses in Darius Gaiden.

The whole danger mechanic in more modern shmups - like the increase in power when in danger (Bangai O) and scraping in the likes of Psyvariar and XII Stag.

Your ideal retro TV should also have flat sides for safer TATE shmupping.

This has been a bountiful week Got 2600 Roadrunner boxed and rated as a 6 on the rare scale at atariage - for £3. Also got Phoenix and Carnival for the trusty 2600. Picked up XIII for Gamecube ....and also Worms, Side Pocket, Marko's Magic Football and Puggsy (all complete and for £2-£3 each) for...

I already have 2 GCs (GAME were selling used GCs for £10 at Christmas). I've acquired two bb adaptors and a crossover cable and have experienced the curios that are LAN mode Mario Kart DD and 1080 Avalanche. Rather nice.

It seems I was a tad harsh...tried it again and apart from the occasional bout of slowdown it plays OK.

I have the PAL version but my SNES is chipped and it plays fine at 60Hz too.

re the previous post - should I have created this thread somewhere else? I thought this was the issue feedback area...

Hydro Thunder and its oft-ignored and under-rated sequel 4 Wheel Thunder are good laughs for 2 players. Cannon Spike (2 player) Outtrigger (4) Rush 2049 (cheesy but good fun for 4) and another vote for PenPen and don't forget that you can get Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party for the DC too - W...

Magic Sword Retro Revival

I've got this for the SNES - haven't played it in ages but I seem to remember it being a flickery mess - will try it again later tonight.
