Re: From the forum issue 126 - Favourite isometric games

I'm a bit confused now... what is the difference between an isometric game or an isometric adventure? And what have some people missed? Me personally I could only ever pick Knight Lore as my favourite isometric game... that game just changed how I viewed computers games. The first room I went in I r...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 124

what about someone who runs a game preservation organisation? I know someone who spends their days in a laboratory preserving old floppies, hunting down almost lost items, making backroom deals, recreating cover scans from several damaged copies to create a single non-damaged copy. Fascinating stuf...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 124

glad u liked the mined out article, that was good fun to do. I think it's important for these little games to get coverage, even if it's only 2 pages Absolutely! In fact as I've already over-laboured, I'd much rather read about those little games than re-read about the same big names and companies ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 124

I've now read the magazine cover to cover, and here - for what it's worth - is my two penneth. Really enjoyed the XEGS article, not a machine I remember being covered before, and some quite interesting new facts were in the article. Yes the A8 series has been covered a lot recently, but not in a rep...

Re: Is the Atari Jaguar the most underrated console system?

It just didn't have the killer games to attract the masses. Yes granted it's technically very very good but that didn't matter. The Speccy didn't have the best spec amongst 8 bits, the gameboy wasn't technically as good as the lynx but at the end of the day it was about games and the quantity of th...

Re: New retro gamer website feedback

The current silence from RG about yours, mine and many other peoples criticisms of the new website is deafening. The moment the comments were destroyed and i lost access rights to my own reviews the website was lost to me. Will never be registering with the new site, just can't see the point. As i s...

Re: New retro gamer website feedback

A month or so on and the website still doesn't impress. You've currently still got less than twenty retrobates signed up, and no sign of missing comments/reviews showing up. I'm of the opinion that its just been a been style over substance change. Who cares if we destroy a whole community of thousan...

Re: What games have the best

Really liked the rain in TOCA Touring Car on PS1
Thought it was great from the in car view where your windscreen wipers would work too... until your windscreen fell out in a crash.

Re: New retro gamer website feedback

The website seems faster today... still don't like it though.
Probably make my last visit to it today to try to locate the last few of my reviews that I have yet to save to my own hard disk, in case they are all deleted at the next re-design whim.

Re: New retro gamer website feedback

The old site was clean, fast and had an established user base. I don't hate the new design, but I preferred the previous - surely things should only be changed to improve them, not just for the sake of it. Been back today and it is simply crawling along (as well as giving Page Not Loading errors). Y...
