Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 126

It does says Knightlore's "Legacy" on the front cover... It actually says Knight Lore - A 30 Year Legacy, which is slightly different. It doesn't get away from the fact that there was very little actual Knight Lore talk in the article, and what was there was already known information, and has been ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 126

Here's my two-penneth on what I've read of Issue 126 so far... which I'd put down as a bit of a disappointment. Was really looking forward to the Knight Lore article, but it really wasn't what it was sold as. It gave no new information on the game, and predictably didn't speak to anyone involved in ...

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Not because its the best arcade game, but because its the only arcade game i ever finished in the arcade.

Re: Formula One 2014 season

I agree with much that he says... F1 is losing its way definitely. However he should be careful saying that modern drivers are all boring as in his heyday (one of Hill, Schumacher and the like) people were then saying Villeneuve's generation were not as good as Senna, Mansell and Prost who went befo...

Re: Fave classic computer?

All my 80's childhood gaming was done using the Spectrum on a 12" portable black and white tv. Never saw screen colours of Spectrum till i got into emulators in the mid 90's  You got a Spectrum, and you next Christmas present WASN'T a colour portable TV? :? Sadly no... They were pretty expen...

Re: Do I need an iPad?

I have a Macbook and a decent smartphone already but I've taken a notion to bring back an ipad from New York in May. My head is telling me I don't need one but my heart is saying the opposite. Are they more useful or handy than what I already have? I'm a heavy ebay user and emulator player and I st...

Re: Fave classic computer?

From top to bottom - ZX, C=64, CPC: Let me enter /playground mode: I expect we are discussing _palette_ here, and not resolution as there is nothing stopping you from making a 100% identical bitmap on the C= 64 as on the ZX (but slightly narrower as the pixels are a fraction smaller in width - 256 ...

Re: Samsung Tab 3 retro gaming controllers.

The easy way, assuming there's a USB socket on it - buy a USB On The Go cable, about 3 quid on ebay. You can then plug in a USB pad, I use a 360 wired pad. The wireless way - there's an app for Wii that pretends the Wiimote is a keyboard. Loking in my apps, its called WiimoteControl. Off to work no...

Re: Fave classic computer?

Technician Ted... Shudder.
I really wanted to like that game because it was so beautiful and polished, but it was just SO hard. Did anyone ever finish it. Don't think i got off screen 5 as a child. Probably haven't got the patience to get to screen 2 as an adult.

Re: Fave classic computer?

Me too... When i was a child i played Spectrum Elite for months. Like you i can't play it at all now. Elite+ on the PC is just a far, far superior game to all other home ports in my opinion... Although quite like the NES version too... And i played the Archimedes version a couple of times and that w...

Re: Fave classic computer?

I way I am the same, the Speccy was the computer I grew up with and loved it. Have so many happy memories revolving around the Speccy. I didn't own an A8 until fairly recently, in fact I hadn't even played one at all until a few years ago. I can sit there and play A8 games all day, so many great cl...

Re: Fave classic computer?

Would have to echo The Laird though, as I've recently re-acquired an 8-bit Atari computer, and I'm loving it. As a child I remember being hypnotised by this machine when a friend bought one. Now to get a disk drive for it... then the fun can really start. But favourite classic computer ? I mean fav...

The sheer joy of opening the box of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Infocom. I got a badge, a microscopic space fleet, some pocket fluff, Earth destruction order and some peril sensitive glasses. I still have the badge to this day... but the other items have disappeared into the ether... like rat...

Re: Fave classic computer?

I voted for the Spectrum, as it is my childhood computer, and one I do still play games on occasionally. Haven't turned it on for a while though.
