Re: What was your fave tv show growing up?

I simply adored Dr. Who. After Peter Davison was replaced with Colin Baker, I stuck with it. When it went on hiatus, I was heartbroken. Once I read an ad in a newspaper for a meeting of Dr. Who fans. I had my mother drive me there. It was very strange, a few people milling around a room in scarves l...

Re: PC Components - Retro or Veto?

The hardware, strictly speaking, no. It would be interesting to see a few articles on the early games that were released to take advantage of new PC components that added new potential to gaming - VGA, sound cards, CD-ROM, perhaps 3D accelerators as well. Personally I believe that the first three ar...

Treasures of Tarmin on the Intellivision. That game ate away large chunks of my early gaming career.

Rad Mobile. Zooming along with your face pressed against the windscreen with your very own Sonic mirror ornament. Lovely fun.

Re: Things we still want to see in the magazine....

I would like to see more on the early CD-ROM/multimedia era from about 1992 until 1996 or so. The sorts of things that came out primarily on the 3DO, CD-I, and PC in that time. There was so much experimentation in that time. I think it is mush maligned for its many failures, yet far more deserving o...

Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I never particularly liked the band, but the game was too bizarre and stylish not to love.

Re: Official feedback for Issue 63

I think the much maligned N-Gage deserved a mention. I have the QD, and adore it. It's small enough to go anywhere, the battery lasts an eternity, and while the limitations of the phne-based controls make action games awkward, they work quite well for slower-paced games. That and the often forgotten...

Stellar Assault was my personal favourite - nice looking and enjoyable polygon based space shooter with more freedom of movement than Star Wars arcade.

Re: The Mobile Phone Section

I think the section is a great addition. The only criticism I have is that it was limited to the iphone/ipod touch; not extended to other platforms. I own and have enjoyed games on all of the following: -iphone -symbian based mobile phone -palm pda -windows mobile pda. I will admit that none of them...

I agree. It's the only console that looks like it might take off and fly into space at any moment.

Re: Official feedback for ISSUE 61

Anyone notice the rather humorous thing that was accidentally left on Page 88? "text box isn't level with the others" :P Heh, i remember an issue of Amiga Format where someone had left the title of a news article or a review of some software or something as a box with the words "Type some sh1t in h...

Re: From the forum question Issue 63

I will stand very much alone and say the Nokia N-Gage QD. There are loads of mobile phone games out there worth trying, and the N-Gage is the only way to play them with a proper controller. The N-Gage exclusive library is small, but worthwhile - and to date, the only way to play them is with the act...

If I had the choice, I would rather use it to completely remove all traces of Wing Commander:The Movie from existence.

For first-party console controllers, I would have to say the SNES pad. I mentioned this in another thread a moment ago, but I'll repeat myself anyway. The moment I held that in my hand and used it, my worries about D-pads vanished. Second is the much-maligned Intellivision controller. It took an aft...
