Re: Hampstead on IOS

I've just now downloaded it and will sync it to my phone soon. Thank you for your work on this and for making it available for free. Made my day to see this.

Re: From the forum issue 115 - Adventure games

Given that adventures are far and away my favourite genre it's going to be nearly impossible to choose just the one. But I'll try. Under a Killing Moon had it all. It was a massive, four CD epic with fantastic visuals, glorious sound, inventive puzzles, memorable characters and was filled with hilar...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 114 Feedback

I've only just skimmed through so far, but I like what I have seen. First, I'd like to weigh in briefly on the PS2 controversy. I'm all for it in the magazine. To me, retro is about the understanding that a great game will always be great, no matter how much time passes. Too many people refuse to pl...

Re: From the forum issue 114 Platformers

Jumping Flash on the PS1. The first-person perspective and bright, colourful 3D levels were breathtaking at the time. It controls well with a bit of practice largely due to having the camera look down as you jump. And it has a fantastic, incredibly catchy soundtrack that has remained firmly lodged i...

Re: have you played the game above you ?

I have played that one on the C64. Didn't much care for it. According to World of Spectrum, the Spectrum version was never released, so if you do have it you might want to get in touch with them.

Re: your top 3 gaming tunes

1. Passing Breeze 2. Magical Sound Shower 3. Splash Wave Not the original versions from OutRun but the remixed versions from OutRun Online Arcade . That brings up something that I have been wondering about for some time, the question of how different people choose their Outrun soundtracks. Do you h...

Damocles. There was a whole solar system there to explore filled with hidden details to discover. Glorious.

Re: Weekend Gamer - R.I.P.

Many thanks for hosting the TV episodes. Might it be possible for someone to make the audio extras available as well? I lost my copies due to a hard drive crash and now find myself wanting to listen to them once again.

Re: "Minority Report" - Games on less mainstream platforms

I'd like to see a piece on games on PDA. They've been all but forgotten along with mobile phone gaming prior to the iphone. if I had to go with any particular title it would be the excellent (and free) Space Trader on PalmOS. It's a surprisingly solid and enjoyable game, a sort of turn-based Elite c...

Re: Official feedback for issue 86

A nice issue this time. Not everything was to my own personal taste, but there's nothing wrong with that. Variety, spice of life, that sort of thing. What I did enjoy in particular was the piece on early 3D gaming. The Mercenary series and Cholo are among my all-time favourites, and it was gratifyin...

Re: Worst Game You've Ever Completed?

Clayfighter on the SNES. Nice idea, poor execution. And I was able to beat it on the first go with little more than random button-mashing and repeating a few learned moves.

Re: Retro Gamer 84 Official Feedback Thread: The Christmas I

I've been quite skint lately and have missed several issues. Luckily I recently decided that I had become tired of constantly re-reading my older ones and picked up this month's RG. It's absolutely marvelous. Beautiful Oliver Frey cover, great in-depth piece on Rare, and most of all a nice look at m...

Re: Free Games from GOG.com

Very nice, thank you for sharing. Martian Memorandum is a great point and click adventure with excellent humour. I've never personally been able to get Mean Streets running properly before, so this will be somewhat new to me. I remember it being very impressive when it was new. I think it may have b...

Re: The System/Computer you owned for the least time?

The SNES. I had it for about six months. The only game that I ever truly enjoyed on it was Wing Commander. So I traded it in somewhere with four games for a Megadrive, a Mega CD, Sonic 1, and eight games on CD. Which made me quite happy. Even happier than the time I found a dirt cheap 32x to add on ...

Re: Anyone remember 'MAD'magazine

Oh yes, the CD (now DVD) collection is fantastic, it has a massive archive. The very best of them were the very early issues right after they changed format from a comic book to a full-sized magazine. They had a superb roster of very respectable writers working for them. There are some excellent, if...
