It's a game that I keep meaning to buy, but when ever I do remember to look for it, I can never find it. It's definitely on my 'to buy' list.

A difficult question for me, as I was out of the gaming loop in the 1980's. I had heaps of fun with my N64, especially with Banjo Kazooie, but I also fell in love with my Dreamcast & spent hours playing on it.

The Spectrum for me, because it's the only computer that I've ever owned. Every kid in my Grammar School had one & I don't recall anyone owning anything else.

I had mine pre-ordered, but decided a couple of weeks ago to cancel due to various reasons. Lack of money, already owning too many unplayed games...that sort of thing.

What is it that you like about retro gaming ?

For me, not in any order... 1. It's relatively cheap & I love reading about an old game, then hunting it down in my local shops or eBay & finally playing it. It's then nice to do a bit of research into how the game came about. 2. They're generally uncomplicated & I can dive in & have a quick ten min...

I can remember playing outdoors with my mates & when Grange Hill came on, we all disappeared indoors to watch it. A great program indeed.

I can fondly remember the year that I got my Spectrum. I was totally blown away, because we weren't the wealthiest of families, so when I opened up my present & saw that it was a Spectrum I couldn't believe it. And my brother bought me a copy of C&VG which started my love affair for games magazines.

Re: Fluorescent socks

Alright, then, he used to own these? I used to walk around wearing one pink and one yellow. Despite thinking I was the coolest kid on earth, I obviosly looked like a pratt  I owned quite a few pairs & always wore odd ones, thinking I was very hip. I used to wear them with black cords, bl...

Whilst I'm here, how about asking Keith Campbell to do something adventure-related? I emailed him after the RG interview last year, and he is a nice guy. Adventures are often forgotten about in the retro 'scene', so heres an opportunity to change that.
I'll second that request. :D

Hi all. I'm Morkin, 34 & a keen gamer of both modern & retro games. I started gaming back in the late 1970's & I'm still playing them today. Although I did have a brief 'gaming break' in the '80's when I started my first job. And I bought Retro Gamer from Issue 1, so I'm really glad that it's back, ...

Re:

I'll nominate Durrell's Saboteur series (1 and 2). At the time, I thought my Spectrum surely could not push itself any further, and games could get no better. This was the peak! I had a go at Saboteur some time ago & came to the same conclusion. I think I gave it ten minutes & that was enough for m...

A very difficult choice. I grew up playing platformers & still play them a fair bit nowadays, but I suppose out of all genres, I play puzzlers the most. I'd love to get back into the adventure genre though.
