Re: Snowboard Kids

Being so used to throwing yourself down the mountain with the likes of Cool Boarders and SSX, I was stumped for sometime as to why I'd always hit the wall at the bottom. Eventually it clicked and it was lap based and you took turns on the ski lift, but boy did I feel stupid! A race could be decided...

Re: Whats your proudest achievement in gaming

The first person in history (other than the creator of the game) to complete Bloodwych on the ZX Spectum...that's what I'm claiming anyway, my maps for all 10 levels are stored on WOS as proof. :D Completing Final Fantasy 8 with all the GFs, all the characters weapons maxed out, all the Triple Triad...

Re: Why the Amstrad was gaming's best 8-bit computer

I have to say, as a Speccy man, if someone were to offer me the choice of an Amstrad or a C64, I'd rather have the Amstrad, simply out of curiosity; I know nothing about any Amstrad specific/born games.

Re: Sorting the DS wheat from the chaff

Ninjatown Ninjatown? Bloody hell, we were more or less giving that away in Toys R Us, it was bunged on the games POS in seasonal, in it's box, right across from the doors. Nobody nicked it, though. The neds were more interested in pinching the Barbie Glamjet. To be fair to the DS+Wii though, there ...

Re: Sorting the DS wheat from the chaff

This will no doubt send shockwaves to the masses who think i'm a SONY fan to the core, but..I auctually bought a DS, brand new, with games...GASP-It was a gift for a very close friend of mine, but still, i bought it. Games wise (and again, i'm a person who buys Nintendo hardware for games other tha...

Re: Sorting the DS wheat from the chaff

Buy Ready, Steady, Cook - its an amazing experience, that I have my fingers crossed will appear on the 3DS very soon - those red tomatoes in 3d would be awesome. . . On a serious note, I reckon there are about 20 games on the DS worth bothering with . . . you really should pick up GTA - that is ver...

Re: Deep fried Mars bars!

A cheeseburger in the chippys round my way consists of two burgers with a slice of cheese in between, battered and deep fried. No bread.

Sorting the DS wheat from the chaff

Every time I walk into Gamestation/Game/any other shop selling games, I am amazed at just how much crap there is for the DS. Games for crappy tv shows like Goldenballs, Little Britain and Ready Steady Cook. Games that offer me 1000+ crossword puzzles. Games that look and sound like their development...

Re: Am i the only one

All current gen games will become retro at some point, we're just cutting to the chase by talking about them now, deciding what will be desirable/rare/classics once their brief moment in the limelight has passed.

Re: any fans of ANOTHER WORLD for the Amiga

I gave up on it after I got stuck at one point for about 3 years...to this day I can remember the Megadrive password to that point (XDDJ). It was the bit where enemies are shooting at you from both sides simultaneously, and you have to carefully time your shields and your shooting to get them. I eve...

Re: Top 5 Spectrum homebrew titles

I really, really, really want to like the Mojon Twins platforms games, but OH MY GOD they are infuriating...the slightest touch from an enemy and BOOMF you're tossed over to the other side of the screen. They're pretty unforgiving.

Then again, they are Spanish...

Spyro the Dragon (Platinum) 49p Point Blank 49p Final Fantasy Anthology £9.99 The guy behind the counter laughed when I brought them up, saying "I was wondering how long that [the Fina...

Re: Snowboard Kids

Brilliant game. It's like Mario Kart but better: the power-ups are more evenly distrubuted for starters.

Also, make sure you're using an official memory card, as it doesn't accept 3rd party ones at all.
