Re: PC Love?

I know i came late to this conversation but i agree that Retro Gamer doesn't give the PC enough coverage. It's true they did the odd article about some pc game like Planescape Torment or Crusader No Regret, but having in mind the importance and longevity of the format, it's just not enough. Like me,...

Re: Top 100 video games

It's got nothing to do with patriotism, after all Commodore was an american company. While european publications/sites like Eurogamer and Retro Gamer try to balance the importance of videogame machines all over the world, most american ones just ignore the rest of the world exists. It's almost like ...

Re: Top 100 video games

dismissing the list because American gamers were choosing is just sad. This. "Oh no, not Nintendo! Oh no, not Americans!" So what if Amercians are biased towards Nintendo? I'm shocked to discover people happen to have a preference for the things they grew up on. . The problem is that most of ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 123

Not much that interested me in this issue, but i loved the Cinemaware article. It's funny to know that TV Sports Basketball doesn't have real player names since my pirated copy had them. :D

Even if it's extra income, it's probably just changes for them.

But still, good luck on your website.

Re: Top 100 video games

I once had the sons of some american friends of my parents staying over for holidays. The spent much time slagging off my Amiga and saying their Super Nintendo was much better. What a sad childhood they must have had.

Probably Phantasy Star for the Master System, but i'm not much of a collector. The less physical games i have, the better. I like my house tidy.

Re: Addictive games?

Rogue Legacy is one of the few recent games that i can truly call addicitve. I finished it on a weekend which gave me a bad case of thumb tendinitis.

My Master System + Phantasy Star. I don't much in the way of consoles, but that's a game i have an emotional attachment with.

Re: Getting stuck thread of humbleness.

I have to agree with Rainbow Islands vampire. He's such an annoying bastard that i even blogged about it: http://amigamemoirs.blogspot.com/2013/12/chapter-iii-rainbow-islands.html Besides that, from recent memory, i remember being stuck on the last level of Serious Sam 3 or the last boss of Giana Si...

Re: Your Favourite Gaming Quotes

Civ V is full of great quotes, but i'm probably cheating as they're just citations. But still, my favourites are:

"To achieve great things only two things are needed: A plan and not enough time"

“We only live to discover beauty. All else is a form of waiting”

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 123

I didn't even knew Salamander, but the cover looks fantastic. I also agree that the other options were very inferior, even looking amateurish.

But yes, a Cinemaware cover would have been tops.

Hunter. Awesome GTA clone before GTA even existed. Besides, did any of those games let you "drive" a windsurf board?

How could that game fit on one disk is a mystery.

Re: Greatest consoles of all time

Just to add my personal experience: Here in Portugal there were more kids with the Master System than with the NES, but it wasn't much of a big difference. The Megadrive-SNES relation on the other way was totally in favour of the Sega machine. I never met anyone with a SNES, and now that i'm trying ...
