Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 204

Problem with the subscriber cover is that they remove details. Make it way too basic. Also nostalgia asks for covers like in store. Screaming interesting stuff at you. So yeah I dont think these unique covers are a good idea. I prefer the store covers in this case. It also seems pretty clear more a...

Re: Turbografx Mini/PC Engine Mini

The japanese white one is really cute, but the European Core Grafx does absolutely nothing for me. Looks really bland, and looks is important on a mini console.

Re: Castlevania

From the classic ones, I like Bloodlines/New Generation the best, even though it's annoying that it has limited continues.

The best one overall though is Order of Ecclesia. SOTN is very easy and dull later on. Ecclesia is just pure funethrough and through, and has the best boss battles in the series.

Re: From the Forum - Issue 205: Sega vs Nintendo

Sega. I feel that the Megadrive besides looking so much cooler than the SNES, has a much more diverse library. Also, Sega own IPs are more varied. Nintendo usually plays very safe with their games.

Re: Fighting Fantasy

I still don't get how gamebooks ever became unpopular as you never see them in book stores anymore. The FF books I occasionally find in second hand / Op shops. There are newer reprints of FF, but with terrible new artwork. So if they don't get a newer audience it's well deserved. The amazing artwor...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 203

Indeed, I feel Matthew Smith and Manic Miner has been done to death now. But I love Mario, and welcome more if there is something new to it. While Manic Miner has been done to death on Retro Gamer, Mario has been done to death everywhere. Videogame's history has been rewritten though the Am...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 203

More Mario articles? Is there anything else to tell? Issues with Mario, Zelda, Sonic and the sorts on the cover are the ones that make me save my money, unless there is an article I really want to read.

I love Barry Leitch soundtracks and I'm always disppointed that there's such a short notice for our questions here in the forum. I would love to ask him some questions:(

Re: Fighting Fantasy

Picked up a Fighting Fantasy book yesterday for the first time in about 22 years. Crypt of The Sorcerer. Cost me £2 in a 2nd hand bookshop. Looking forward to running through it later. That book is basically impossible. The last enemy has SKILL 12 and kills instantly if you get 2 hits in a row. I w...

Re: Questions for Barry Leitch

Hi Barry, the soundtrack for Hero Quest is one of my favourite ever. I still listen to it regularly without getting fed of it. Did you have any particular inspiration for it? It kind of gives me a classic Heavy Metal vibe.

EDIT: Damn, too late

Re: From The Forum Issue 201

Although I started with the original Game Boy, I have to say Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS. I love the Igavania games and for me Ecclesia is the absolute best. It also has some of the best boss fights ever.

Turrican CD available for ordering from outside the UK?

Can anyone confirm if the CD comes with the magazine if I order it from other European country (in this case Portugal)?

Paradise. Sometimes it's just good the enjoy the scenery without pressure. That is, until you spot that car that you have to smash to add to your collection.

Re: LOZ - Twilight Princess

It was ok, but the motion controls added nothing, and a visual style closer to Wind Waker would benefit more considering the low-res and horsepower of the Wii. And the tutorial drags on for too long (this is a criticism that can be aimed at many other zelda's)

Re: From the forum issue 168 - Multiplayer scumbaggery

One of my friends was a terrible loser and couldn't accept that bumping other cars out of the track was a valid strategy on Micromachines. Once, after doing that too much on his house, playing on his megadrive, he expelled me from the place threatening me with his japanese katana. Seriously.
