Re: Questions for Peter McConnell

How did the idea for iMuse come about and did it end up being all you expected it to be? (The music for MI2 is awesome btw).

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Toast of London series 1-3. Some really funny moments and some great slapstick stuff but watching it all together shows that each episode pretty much follows the same beats. To be fair most sitcoms do. In a way it's what makes them successful; you pretty much know what's coming butnot exactly how. ...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

The thing is that many of these will be sold on nostalgia alone. By the time punters realise that actually it doesn't look or play quite how they remember , it will be too late. Still nice to have a cool looking mini PS1tucked under the telly.

Re: Nintendo shut down Emuparadise.

It's one thing to declare that roms are illegal, or for a company not to give permission for free access, and another to actively pursue those who host the roms. Can you blame a company for wanting to stop others from giving their stuff away free - especially when that company is still selling it? O...

Re: Renting videotapes

I'm currently in the process of downsizing my Blu-Rays, HD-DVDs, DVDs and VHS to a more manageable level. My master plan is to have the lion's share of films in Blu-Ray and keep the legacy formats for films that are either unavailable on BR, have special features that are unavailable on BR, have a ...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

As for value for money; you're getting a machine plus controllers plus 20 games for about £100. In this day and age, that really is not a lot of money and good value at around a fiver a game (with a 'free' machine). Obviously it depends on what games are there as to whether you would want it, but en...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

I doubt they will make a CD drive add-on officially available as A.it would kind of go against the whole 'mini' thing (you may as well just have a slimline PS one) and B. It would mean less sales from the Sony store. This machine - like the others before - will be targetted at the MAINSTREAM audienc...

Re: What System would you like a 'Classic' console for?

A Vectrex would be amazing! Other than that I'd quite like an Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx and a Gamecube with additional Gameboy Player content. Problem with Vectrex is that once you take it out of it's dedicated cab it loses at lot of what makes it worth playing. The only way to properly play the sys...

Re: What System would you like to a 'Classic' console for?

The only one I want is Mini N64. Pilotwings, Waverace, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Blast Corps, Orcarina and Majora plus another dozen or so classics? Yes please. In fact the N64 only has about two dozen really great games, with many of the rest being stinkers, so if they include the best 20-25 Nintendo a...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

Yeah Space Channel 5 is aces. Also worth checking out Crazy Taxi 1 and 2, Virtua Tennis (though i don't like the sequel so much) Jet Set Radio, 18 Wheeler, Star Wars Pod Racer and Soul Calibur.

Re: Which Dreamcast?

For scrolling shooters there's Ikaruga, but cheaper and (imho) more fun Gunbird 2.

Re: Which Dreamcast?

The lightgun was fairly poorly supported with games. Virtua Cop 2 only came out with the US Sega Smash Pack; I'm not sure if a UK gun is compatible?

House of the Dead is about the inly decent UK game, and that's really fun. As is Typing of the Dead if you get a keyboard.

Re: The Star Wars thread

Jedi was badly written, badly directed...just bad. Here's me think Disney were getting it right with Force Awakens and Rogue One, but this film is an utter mess. Poorly written, poorly directed. Yes the Leia scene is really bad - on a par with squeezing Jabba in to re-mastered ANH. And why have a p...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

The thing that killed the DC for me was that they didn't get Madden or FIFA ; in fact they got little from EA who were arguably the top third party publisher at that time. The Dreamcast didn't get anything from EA but the SWS and NFL games Sega released in their place were good and more than made u...
