funniest would be chasing my mate scotty around with a redeemer in unreal at which point I'd turn off, look for the look of relief as he sits opposite me, make a U-turn then nail him in the back with it to make him swear. Haven't laughed so hard since..well.. I found out he turned up on 'beauty and ...

Re:

@sack Love the hex signature! It really took me back! Setting the foreground and border to black on the 64 LDA #0 STA $D020 STA $D021 RTS I can't believe I still remember the 6502 op-codes! Made me chuckle in a very nerdy way :o) - Paulie. I'm shocked I didn't have to google to write it :) glad it ...

Zelda on the NES seems to get all of the respect but I still reckon golden axe warrior on the mastersystem was better

Re:

I like the Tony Hawk soundtracks because they're more in tune with the kind of stuff I generally listen to and in the case of the second one sent me forth to find more stuff by said artists. Oh yes. Millencollin - No Cigar 8) Actually, that's the only track I can remember from that game. that...

i got my housemates into it at uni. the conversation was basically 'NES.. how sad is tha... bloody hell! mario 3?' followed by a marathon sesh. for me I was into it but it never dawned on me at first - I was just getting some use out of my C64 still and didn't see it as anything more than that. Then...

some games seemed to take ages, but when you whack the loading tunes into SIDplay and you see the timer you realise it was mere youthful impatience.

dunno how long my copy of tau ceti took to load though, hated the game but loved the invade-a-load so the stop button got hit when it appeared :)

I'm impressed. doubly so by the fact none of it is shrinkwrapped - I'm not a fan of 'mint in box' shrinkwrap collectors, unless of course they buy a second functional copy. I mean they're games fer chrissakes - to be enjoyed. would you lock the mona lisa in a vault and put a sign on it saying 'trust...

Re:

It's all fun and (video) games until someone loses an eye (or enters into political or religious discussion) :P hey - political arguments can be a lot of fun so long as you know where the line is and everyone shows a bit of respect. Had the mother of all arguments in a pub monday night. why? we jus...

Hitler probably did have some good ideas. Not really any kind of authority on the subject but it seems logical to me that he'd need some to move himself into the position he was in. He also had some fantastic skills as a public speaker to sway the crowd behind him. But alas he was fundamentally a ce...

Seems to make the game seem so much more frantic.

Well I'd have to agree on the Sanxion front, and throw outrun and space harrier into the ring as my favourite arcade game tunes. But in terms of licenced commercial tracks in games (which I think is what the original post was getting at) - I like the Tony Hawk soundtracks because they're more in tun...

Re:

A few years later, I'd changed the NES for an ST and got a printer for Christmas. I'd only had it for about 10 minutes when I took off a bit of the plastic case in order to install the ink ribbon (remember those!?) and promptly sat on the bit of plastic case and broke it! I was gutted, until my dad...
