Re: Commodore 64/128 Advice please

Now you just need an Action Replay cartridge - I can't really picture using my C64 without it

Re: 3DO

I remember one of the FIFA games being great because it had a whole bunch of hidden options that allowed you to turn it into a complete mockery of a game of football that was amazingly fun to play - especially 'hot potato' mode, where you'd get a whistle as a warning, then the ball would become huge...

SPACE HARRIER! I've got nothing more to add, apart from: SPACE HARRIER! Every so often I get hit by a day when you think 'you know what? I can't be bothered with games anymore' after something annoys me greatly. One dose of Space Harrier later and I'm back in business and damn sure what it was that...

Re: Does new technology make you go Wow!!

Tech these days is pretty amazing - but you do have to actually *think* about it to appreciate it. Everything is incremental. A few extra FPS, a bit more memory, more storage... It's all very gentle and half the time you need to go into the task manager to see what's grown or improved. Did your last...

I wouldn't be suprised if after a bit of a clean and some chip reseating that thing works perfectly - schoolkids are demonspawn and those things survive that kind of treatment. A drop into a skip is probably nothing by comparison

it's wierd... I mean I'm from Nottingham originally and this shocked me. That said when I was at Nottingham Trent uni I did have to swing my trusty banhammer at someone once for taking an excessive interest in my then-girlfriend (who wasn't exactly disinterested in him) and then bragging about the s...

if it is murder - then who is the murderer?

the player for commiting the act, or the programmer for freeing up the memory that character once occupied thereby pulling the plug?

This is one of those 'questions best debated at 3am after a crate of jagermeister' i think

if I ever worry that I'm getting bored or disillusioned with games I just fire up space harrier and I'm sorted for another year or so. Some games age really badly, some look a bit dated but are still fun, Space harrier just doesn't seem to get old at all. The graphics were impressive but I think tha...

here's a fun night: *Go to office fancy dress party *get a wee bit drunk *Extract the urine out of someone in costume *grimace when the uberboss of the entire office is called onto the stage and you realise who he came dressed as Luckily he's one of those people where the amount he likes you is inve...

I'm wondering if someone carefully disassembling such a cartridge to replicate the board design might be an idea because then we have a cartridge design with more room to play with and the chips needed to build them might be more plentiful. At a guess it wouldn't be much more expensive than the cur...

gutted... just gutted.

I mean a pitfighter cabinet is far bigger, would've produced more debris to keep the shredder fans happy and nobody would miss it because as a game it's a steaming pile of toss.

Why didn't they stuff pitfighter in there?

I was six and a half at the time LOL. Why do the Amiga and ST screenshots look exactly the same?? it's all about the framerate ;) The best lie ever told has to be 'It'll help me with my homework, dad!', surely? Although it did backfire the second time I tried it and I ended up with an Archimedes, b...
