Re: Mega Drive Mini

Yes, I'm just wondering unless you are a collector of mini systems, who is this aimed at? The casual retro fans probably already have the At games machines or a collection for another console...and Sega have devalued their own product over the years with the releases up until this, their own mini sy...

Re: Mega Drive Mini

Thought I'd bump this in anticipation of it's release this week. By all accounts reviews are excellent. But, have to admit in having a little cold feet about buying in the last couple of weeks. With the excellent Sega collection on 360, with emulators on my modded original xbox with older games...re...

Re: Less known retro computers to discover

I like the Vtech Creativision. It's been distributed around different countries under different names, in Australasia it was distributed via the D1ck Smith Stores (trying not to get the name censored out!) as the Wizzard. A small library of cartridges, various clones of 80s arcaders mainly, but good...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 198

Yes, I go straight to my fave magazines site for the issue now, it is impossible to buy over the counter in Christchurch New Zealand now. Sad. But retailers in NZ screw the public over anyway putting high retails on issues that are actually the older (3 issue previous) issue. So easier to buy online...

Uh...yes. Doom by a landslide. I agree, it's probably still my all time favourite game, providing the illusion of a 3D world and pure blasting fun

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll

I so feel for everyone involved in this mess, it was disgraceful. And I would never ever trust indiegogo for any crowdfunding if I was to back anything in the future (cautiously). I understand the battles have gone quiet but still continue. I wish them well to get the bastards. And I still believe R...

So.. after spending an hour trying to clear the first level on Ghouls'n'Ghosts, realise I'm not as good at computer games as I used to be! :D

Re: PS3 - retro??

Got myself some more today - GTA liberty city GTA IV Red dead redemption Goldeneye reloaded Medal of honour £9.95. All in good condition too. Goldeneye is brand new. That's me done for now unless I see any other NHLs for cheap. Red Dead Redemption Undead nightmare is worth grabbing too if you didn'...

Re: NHL retrospective?

We used to love the NHL and Madden on the Megadrive, had some great head to head battles. PGA was a fun chill out rainy Sunday afternoon one... I think a good feature on EA sports perhaps, unless it has been done and I've missed it or forgotten. I'm sure I've seen bits n pieces throughout MD feature...

Re: From The Forum: 198

So, there's nobody who'll be playing each of them for thirty seconds, unplugging it, and sticking it in the cupboard to gather dust then? :) I never intend to, but that's what usually happens  It's why I stopped collecting older machines, and now have collected several of the mini machines by ...

Re: TheC64!

I see it has got a local release date, and not a bad local price. And as luck would have it, stores here are trying to unload stocks of C64 mini, so got one today at 75% off retail, which I'm delighted with. Been wanting one but our price was just too high, this made it an instant buy

Re: PS3 - retro??

Lol I thought this was going to be a debate whether PS3 era was 'retro' - and of course following into the heated 'what is retro?!' PS3/360 era is a great one to get NOW. It's dirt cheap, with tons and tons of AAA titles also dirt cheap That was my thinking. I'd been in CEX and noticed some cheap g...

Re: From The Forum: 198

A great line up, from memory I think what jumped out for me would be Road Rash 2. Just a really fun game. I'd want a few light fun games before sinking my teeth into one I'd stay on for a while!
