Gotta agree with that...SOR2 was just an awesome game. Just absolutely played it to death at the time. Still enjoy the original SOR though...The 'smart bomb' feature with the Cop car racing racing in & Laucher was way cool! I think the first Side scroll beater that got me enjoying the genre was Doub...

Yeah, it probably would...but it wouldn't have to be a 'every month' feature, as more of a special every few months when someone specific comes up that would be of real interest. For example, in our local paper there was a feature involving this guy in America who began a passion for collecting a fe...

Has the Sega Mega CD game/version of 'Night Trap' been nominated yet? That gets my personal Worst game ever. Even with the 2600 Pac man there was a slight replay value (Despite poor Pac looking like a mangled crisp and the game flickering to buggery)...and you forgave it for the technology limitatio...

'I am 8 Bit' The art book/exhibition!

Hi Yall, This is probably old hat and well known, but I stumbled upon this while looking up info on Edge Magazines Art of Videogames special. Just bought the I am 8 Bit book from Amazon, and loved checking out the exhibtion site (Just Google it if you want to check it out). Being an arty kinda guy, ...

Congratulations on an awesome book, what I've read of it there and on Amazon looks well researched and an excellent read. I hope it does well for you.

You will have a customer here once I have some bills out the way and a couple of pays under my belt! :)

Awesome awesome game. I was a fan of Jarvis early arcaders big time. There was something different about them that made them stand out from the crowd. Defender could reduce me to tears though, never got good at that game no matter how much I tried. Home versions yes, Arcade...no way. Robotron I did ...

I loved the original design with the card games on it too. When I bought mine I didn't have the Alex Kidd game free, but the Card game 'Transbot', which wasn't a bad little shooter.

Both were awesome. Back in the day in NZ, Nintendo wasn't really that big, it was Sega that took our Country by storm with SMS then MegaDrive Aka Genesis. I remember buying a SMS over the phone from a shop in the city and getting it sent to me with Afterburner, Choplifter, and a few others. It was j...

Re: Starcade

In America, we had a show called Starcade, in which contestants competed for the highest score on Donkey Kong, Pleiades, and other video games. You had to earn high scores quickly since the games were timed, making for some interesting strategies. http://brettweisswords.blogspot.com/ Yeah, I just o...

Hello all, just joined from down here in New Zealand, spotted a mag (The Xevious Cover!), enjoyed it and popped on here. Will be slowly looking for back issues, but postage being a killer will be doing it VERY slowly! Don't collect Retro systems etc, just have a passion for games old and new, and lo...
