I just wanted to say that after playing the AMAZING Updated version of Knight lore, if that doesn't win the competition, I'd be greatly disappointed. You could have released this fine version of the classic on any modern system and it would have done well.

Finally Sonic 2 on the SMS was a unique game in the series and was only available on the SMS ( it was COMPLETELY different from the Megadrive Sonic 2) and it made for a pretty amazing platformer in its own right. -Ray As much as I don't want to do this as I fully support the rest of your post. I ha...

Nintendo Vs The Great Gianna Sisters

I originally posted this on the Lemon 64 forums, and it got some good responses. I wanted to see what some non-specific Retro gamers thought... I don't know much about Copyright law, just some basics. But, it seems odd to me that Nintendo had any real ability to push the Great Gianna thing legally. ...

Easy, Star Wars Arcade. No question. My next one was Empire Strikes Back for the 2600 shortly after and eventually Raider and ET, both of which made me sad.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Most of the games listed look terrific. The Tron light Cycle Game looks awesome as well as the two you mentioned. Definitely going to get a few of these.

I voted NES, even though I owned a Master System long before I had a NES I just found that there are very few MS games that stand the test of time (Wonderboy 2 and 3, and Phantasy Star, in fact), but the NES has loads of great games I'm still happy to play today. It's a funny reversal though, becau...

Surprisingly no one has mentioned Castlevania: Sympathy Of the Night, considered by many to be the greatest of all CV games.

I haven't played it, but I hear the Ps1's version of Strider 2 is EXCELLENT.

Re: Starcade

See, while those in the UK were watching intelligent Television about the booming Micro Computer industry, we Americans were rotting our brands away on the TV equivalent of CANDY! :D -Ray We belive you. The evidence is also in your favour.. ;) Hey now, you all aren't innocent of Candy TV. Don't mak...

Re: Starcade

In America, we had a show called Starcade, in which contestants competed for the highest score on Donkey Kong, Pleiades, and other video games. You had to earn high scores quickly since the games were timed, making for some interesting strategies. http://brettweisswords.blogspot.com/ Ah, Starcade, ...

SMS vs NES

Recently I've been discovering the Sega Master System and how amazing it really was. I went directly from the Atari 2600 to my Commodore 64 right into being a Mega Drive owner. My brother had an NES. So except for a couple of games I got with the Power Base adapter, I never really had a chance to ex...

Ok, granted, I do sometimes forget that this is an international list once in a while. So, I was a bit of in my assessment of the SMS. But, all that does is prove furhter that somebody's lawyers weren't on the ball. :D I will say this much though, I never had an SMS and when I got my Genesis, I did ...

Blake's 7 was too early, when licensed games were popular it was a very unfashionable show. More surprising is that there was never much done with Dr Who if you're looking at genre TV. Good point. Come to think of it, you'd think there would be a modern DW game, given that the show is hot again. -Ray
