Re: Safe to say, with hindsight that the CPC was the best

Head Over Heels is a good example. It uses high resolution comparable to the Speccy version, runs at a decent speed like the Speccy version (unlike the C64 which is slow), but has more colour without sacrificing detail. Don't know about sound, but on the other evidence, CPC wins. Interestingly the ...

That article about Livingstone for example.
Or from the French one?

Spectrum: sales numbers for the different models

The Spectrum is loved by many on this forum. Can anyone give sales estimates for the different Spectrum models?

Sinclair 16k , 48k, 128k, rubber and non rubber models, +2 and +3. Any more?

Re: Anyone still refusing to play a rival system from childh

Bomb Jack on the C64 is criticised because it plays just wrong. You cannot collect the bombs in order and get a 50 000 bonus Amazing how nostalgia overcomes all of these issues. The C64 version of Bomb Jack is the one I grew up with and absolutely adored. I occasionally play it today via emulators ...

Re: Anyone still refusing to play a rival system from childh

I prefer the lower colour and higher resolution of the Speccy, or the low resolution and more aesthetically pleasing colour of the C64. The Amstrad has a higher resolution than the Spectrum, just take a look at almost any Amstrad isometric game to see it. I felt like coming home when I bought the D...

Re: Next Gen Amstrad Console!

Too bad the controllers aren't Amstrad branded. There could be a market for those among the CPC and GX4000 collectors

Re: Next Gen Amstrad Console!

"Claims to be Amstrad"... I doubt it very much; Alan Sugar is many things but he's not stupid - he would never have put his name to this. Thanks for sharing though! :D It could have been something by Amstrad International (Hong Kong). http://www.amstrad.com/hk/product_archive.html That product seem...

Best demos for 8/16 bit systems

There are an awful lot of demos out there for many systems. I have just seen a few of them.
Can anyone recommend good demos for 8/16 bit computers and consoles?
My favourite so far is batman 4ever for the Amstrad CPC.

Re: Retro Gamer 150 - Your Greatest Games Ever!

Obviously I don't dislike all 8-bit games, but I do think that many of the one I used to enjoy in my youth haven't stood the test of time, particularly arcade conversions. In fact I can't think of any arcade port I'd play over the original now. I don't own any 8-bit home computers any more, but was...
