It's a joke based on how big the original Amstrad computer was...
I know, but I felt it missed the target as the GX 4000 was small

Bollocks to all that
Wheres my GX4000 mini?
Amstrad will probably get round to it in five years' time. And it will be the size of a breezeblock.
A lot bigger than the real one?

Re: Retro Gaming Chat on Discord - join in at 9pm every Sunday

A topic for you to discuss: ZX Spectrum sales numbers. The total is 5 millions I believe. 15% of those were the Amstrad made Spectrum +3, roughly 750 000 machines. I can only assume more Spectrum +2 were made. How many Spectrums did Sinclair make? How about russian clones, Timex and maybe other pro...

Re: Retro Gaming Chat on Discord - join in at 9pm every Sunday

Yes, the Retro Gaming Chatroom hosted on Discord is on this weekend, Sunday 9pm to be precise, so I hope some people who are brave enough can join the entertainment when it begins, and it won't just be about slagging off the Amstrad either. We will talk about non-Sugar related items if you like. Sp...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 202

Are you talking about the main gaming CPC 464 that was in competition with the C64 and Speccy? All I can find is around 2 million units sold (17 million C64's and 5 Million Speccy's - along with 6 million Amiga 500's)... Or are you referring to all the various Amstrad computers? According to amstra...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 202

Making of Ghost Hunters - There seems to be a bit of an overload with Amstrad this month. The 3 owners must be over the moon! Did you know that the total sales of Amstrad CPCs were close to that of the Amigas and Atari STs? Are you talking about the main gaming CPC 464 that was in competition...

The History of Warlords - AWESOME!
Warlords 3 - Darklords Rising was my favorite. Great for up to 8 players through email play. Warlords 4 was a real downer after the great Darklords. So simple and boring in comparison. Still waiting for Darklords to be ported to my CPC :)

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 201

But on the other hand why would Amstrad sell the Sam Coupe? It already had the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC in the lowend market. The Sam Coupe wasn't a cheap machine to produce and the specifications weren't very good either. The Sam Coupe wouldn't really be a big step up. The Sam Coupe was released...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 201

As for Loki ; was it ever more than a pipe dream? Having said that if Sinclair could throw crazy money at QL and C5 then who knows, but the prospect of the machine shipping with a tapedrive was just ludicrous.I can only assume that this was to massively cut costs and to make it backward compatible,...

Re: Pinball Dreams Amstrad CPC finally released

Quality capture from a real Amstrad CRT screen running Pinball Dreams. It looks lovely, way better than on an emulator. This really is Atari ST quality on the humble Amstrad CPC

Amstrad and Amiga version running side by side https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faDRc7R7a10 I wonder if someone will try to do a ZX Spectrum or C64 version? There was a C64 version in development, they released an Ignition table preview. But no updates on that for a while now... If I remember correc...

OMG! Ye Ar Kung Fu on 464! Corner yourself and your opponent would be too close to actually hit you. Total exploit, obvs, so doesn't really count.
Yie are Kung Fu looped, so you couldn't finish it.

The first game I finished was Sorcery on the Amstrad CPC. Great memories
