No problem.

Oh and I can only echo what St.Eddie and Paranoid Marvin have said... there's no excuse not to grab the free talkie version in SCUMM. And if you like that the iOS version so John gets a few Aus dollars :)

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 118 - Feedback Thread

I envy your job, Sir. I loved reading about the sequel and Gameboy version that never were. By the way, you probably already know this but if you run the file 'Queen.1' from the CD under ScummVM you'll get a bonus playable interview with the developers. Yeah, I did ask John about that but it got cu...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 118 - Feedback Thread

A great issue (as always). I was over the moon to find a 4 page article on 'Flight of the Amazon Queen'. Not only because I adore adventure games in general but because I've been running a very unconventional and humorous picture based let's play of the game for some time now over at the Telltale G...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 118 - Feedback Thread

One thing I remember about the Grandstand video game console was even when you were playing the Pong -style Tennis / Football / Squash variants, you could still shoot the ball with the lightgun and it would vanish for a few seconds - making it rather hard for the players! Heh... I'd forgotten about...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 118 - Feedback Thread

I appreciate you may have not had access to every lightgun ever, but it seemed a bit superficial and narrow on the games that piece did cover. Most heinous crime was to say the Wii Zapper was first bundled with Ghost Squad - it first came with a pack-in game, and probably the best game of the lot -...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 118 - Feedback Thread

It's worth noting that we highlighted the guns that were good and we could actually get hold of :) Special thanks to DPrinny for really helping us out and also Mike who kindly brought some in when he had his interview :P Had to chuckle at the way I appear to thank myself in my own article... (gives...

Re: Idea for a semi-regular feature

That level of technical detail is already present in some of the Making Ofs (the Uridium one springs to mind because i was surprised that nobody complained!) Actually you're right it was a bit... although I think I was trying to put forward the point that the whole game was pretty much a programmin...

Re: Idea for a semi-regular feature

Not forgetting the others by Jeff Minter, the Rowlands brothers or the team behind Lemmings , regular coverage of demos (originally from Compunet and later from PD libraries), technical articles and questions in the letters section or notes about what the games were doing from the more technically-...

Re: Idea for a semi-regular feature

Interesting one this - there are definitely pros and cons about doing something like this but obviously without wanting to put non-technie minded readers off too much but I think a couple of page looking at the little idiosyncratic programming tricks on the Speccy, A8, C64 or Amiga would be rather r...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

This one or this one maybe? At any rate, my money's on it having come with a Grandstand console if it was bought in the UK, hope this helps. :) Yup that's it... but the funny thing is I never had a Grandstand, I had something called a Binatone TV Master which was a similar (Pong, 'Football', 'Squas...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Cheers all, some good titles mentioned here... I've managed to squeeze a good chunk of them into the article, which will be an epic 8-pager, hopefully with pics of a lot of the home light gun hardware too (Darran currently has my GunCon+Time Crisis, DC and Virtua Guns, plus something I found in the ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 117 - Feedback Thread

"Unloved" also refers to the wider perception of the console. If you read most gaming history books or articles, the Master System is a mere footnote - if it even gets referred to at all. It was certainly unloved by me, busy as I still was with C64 and Amiga, though I've come to appreciate its char...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 117 - Feedback Thread

thief ? is that the article jdanddiet said they was doing a while ago now ? i'll be looking forward to that. It was, but I didn't do it in the end, John had already got several contacts under his wing. Funnily enough John was trying to do a making of Lost Vikings for ages. Looks like you two swappe...
