It has to be Loom , as it's the only one I've spent considerable time in. From what I've seen of other games, it does seem to be lacking in any real department (comedy, atmosphere, puzzles, exploration, graphics, music, etc..) and as such I enjoyed playing it a lot. Having said that, it's a shame I ...

Liquid Kids is pretty easy to come by - I've had my copy since it was released, think it was about £30 at the time. Cool game though it has to be said. I've pretty much got a full collection of all the good Jap Saturn titles - out of everything I found Hyper Duel and the Jap versions of games like ...

Re: Sega Saturn collecting thread

And is Psychic Killer Taromaru really worth this much? :o http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Psychic-Killer-Taromaru-sega-saturn-rare-/160628457051?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item256633be5b It's the rarest Saturn game ever so, from a collector's point of view, yes. The game is actually very en...

Got my issue today, so approximately two weeks later. Nice Frey cover to be sure and first one in a while as I recall. So far so good, looking forward to reading it more in-depth later on but just wanted to point out some amendments. UN Squadron Ultimate Guide: Instant Expert point 3 - Carrier Air W...

I've just managed to clear Astro Boy: Omega Factor first time through (Birth) and after finally getting into it I realized it is a true Treasure game. In many ways it reminds me heavily of the Alien Soldier layout and execution and anyone who is a fan of Treasure should seek this out, especially giv...

Re: Flashback QFI - Best Version?

You're confusing two different versions here. What that is saying is there are cut scenes which are optional in the Amiga version, but enabling these will cause a slight delay (presumably there's a disk access while it does it). It then says the (PC) DOS version also features these cut scenes but d...

Re: Flashback QFI - Best Version?

This bit doesn't make sense to me. What has MS DOS got to do with the Amiga? I played it on the Amiga and loved it, but I don't know if any other version is better. I expect not (from my point of view), as console versions will use joypads, so I wouldn't be able to play them. I don't know what QFI ...

Flashback QFI - Best Version?

I realize this may have been covered in RG the couple times Flashback had an article but I am not at home and besides, I'd like further insight into which is the best version to dig into and why. I heard some praise for Genesis/MegaDrive while some hold up that Amiga is best (despite some loading wh...

Not to rain on your parade but I am curious as to your score. Personally, I obtain the games I enjoy to play first and foremost. To collect beyond that can require a collector's itch and perhaps the capital to justify doing so. I would perhaps go for a complete set of a given console and software line-up out of respect of the system and what it has to offer. I...

Only prob with that is price fluctuations would more or less instantly make the info out of date/wrong and give people unrealistic ideas about prices they are buying or selling the games for, which was exactly the problem with the Retro Price lists, they were largely meaningless and ebay on any giv...

The 2 page PAL N64 checklist harkens back to when the Retro Price Listings were 6 odd pages each. I think something worth adding that is from the RPL would be ranges of prices on a given game. I realize this adds a lot of work to the process even for a system such as the N64 but it would be a nice a...

I never owned an N64 and never had any desire to own one either. The controller I thought was radical, coming from Sega Genesis and as a result hard to adjust to. This is what led to me have a fond dislike of the system that still permeates to today. I agree with sentiments that it does have a certa...

Re: New Vs Old Gran Turismo Vs Gran Turismo 5

Not much of a contest, more cars, more realistic control, and more options all lend favour to GT5 flaws aside. The original game has it's charm but it doesn't stack up well against newer entries. That speaks to effort put in by Polyphony to improve the formula, and they have.
