Re: Retro Gamer 168

I can't read half the Imagine article in my copy of the mag. Some pages ok but others have a darker blue background and all the white text is blurred. Like looking at it without glasses on :( My copy seems ok but seen this happen on occasion with black background & white text. It looks like the pri...

Re: Retro Gamer 168

Half-Life 2 seems too new to be in the mag, perhaps it still holds up well today. Heh, I'm reading back issues from 2006/2007 right now. And they treat N64 as retro then. HL2 came out in 2004, 13 years ago. N64 was "active" from 1996 to 2000ish. I think we old guys need to get new glasses. :mrgreen...

Re: Retro Gamer 168

Plenty of my retro content with Nebulus, Chuckie Egg 2, Mega Man X, SG-1000 and Imagine Software. Half-Life 2 seems too new to be in the mag, perhaps it still holds up well today. Shame the new super thin plastic wrapper the subscription now posts with did'nt protect the mag from being ripped throug...

Re: Questions for David 'Popular Computing Weekly' Kelly

What was the most exciting time to be a part of computing and games for you during your magazine career?

What do you think of todays computing and games magazines and what changes do you think you would make to them as editor?

Re: Retro Gamer 167

In the letters section you ask if we want to see the return of Retroshamer? And the answer, from me atleast, is yes. I enjoyed reading the retroshamer articles back in the day. Bring it back. :) I wasn't a fan of Retroshamer, thought it came down too hard on the games (rightly or wrongly) rather th...

Cheers Kiwimike, was way more work to it than I first thought!

Knight_beat, I think so. Was printed through lulu.com books - very expensive though.

Re: Bookazines / Specials

We've not had an Amstrad bookazine before. I seem to recall Darran saying that it wouldn't sell well, but maybe a a combined Amstrad/Spectrum edition would work. It would'nt sell to anyone outside CPC fans at all... so I made my own personal copy. I would rather have seperate Amstrad and Spectrum b...

Flashback. It lost its rotoscoped smooth animation, move set & controls and most importantly its atmosphere and cool sci-fi story and setting.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 164

The large articles could be trimmed a few pages by dropping alot of the side box outs, charts and artwork in favour of the main text body. Res Evil this month is 10 pages but can easily have been trimmed to 6. I guess this would look rather plain with mainly text so a pay off between text & art has ...
