Re: Your go-to 8-bit game

Bruce Lee (C64) Everytime. I think it's not only down to the fact that it's a great game, but on the memories related to it. Great times.

My second choice would be Fingers Malone (C16) but I find it blink hard these days! The PC Remake is well worth a look.

Re: Happy Birthday MAME 20 today.

My first experience with MAME was a major eye opener - I'd heard of emulation prior, but arcade games on my PC? What black magic is this? MAME's influence is huge, it gave incentive to coders to emulate anything and everything, to publishers seeing a potential market in the retro scene, to giving th...

Re: First games you played on each system

I'm guessing, but a lot of the following would have been pack-in games..............[tries furiously to remember 25+ years ago, but yet cant remember what happened last week] Also the systems below are some of the ones I've owned, not just played. C16 - Punchy. Which I still play, sadly via emulatio...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

When news of the Switch hit, I was very interested. The WiiU left me cold, but yet I love the Wii. Yes I am a fan of motion controls (when used correctly and not tacked on) and yes I am a fan of Nintendo products, but I'm also a fan of Sony consoles. I've even got an XBox 360. I've always liked havi...

Re: Discuss Section - 166

The SNES. With a back catalogue of games that could fill a Greatest Games Ever list, the Super Nintendo is near perfect. It just highlighted the massive leap in technology from 8 to 16 bit. It changed peoples perceptions of games in general along with the term 'Arcade Perfect'. And it still has the ...

Re: From The Forum issue 165 - Worst jump from 2D to 3D

Worms. While I don't mind the 3D version and occasionally play it on the PS3, the adding of depth to the aiming system was a step too far making the game overly complicated and frustrating.

Merry Christmas peeps!

Personally 2016 has been a good year for me, but I know quite a few on here have had some tough times, so with that in mind I hope that 2017 brings you something to cheer about.

Re: New Rogue One Trailer

Definitely. While there was plenty of humour sprinkled though the film, the ending was a bit of a shock. And one scene in particular reminded me of a horror film!

Re: Blade Runner 2049 Trailer

I suppose it depends a lot on which version of the original film they follow. The book sequel seems to follow the international cut, while the new film could possibly follow the final or Director's cuts. It will be interesting to see on which version they do follow as (IMO) the international cut Dec...

Re: Blade Runner 2049 Trailer

The Plot for Blade Runner 2: Edge of Human (according to Wiki) "Beginning several months after the events in Blade Runner, Deckard has retired to an isolated shack outside the city, taking the replicant Rachael with him in a Tyrell transport container, which slows down the replicant aging process. H...
