Re: Nintendo releasing a new NES !

They seem to have been as rare as rock horse poop but I've finally managed to bag one........only for the missus to promptly wrap it! On the look out for another pad now but having no luck. I could buy a Wii classic controller and use that (as I also have Wii) but the OCD in me is screaming no! A bi...

Re: From The Forum Issue 160 - Gamecube

THE underrated console of any generation. All my mates had a PS2, yet once they played 'the kids' toy, they wanted one! Rogue Squadron is still stunning to play as is a list of exclusive titles, The joypad is bliss to use and the Panasonic version of the console is simply stunning.

Re: From The Forum issue 159 - Codemasters

I so wanted to pick a game from the 'absolutely excellent' 8 bit era or even Overlord: Dark Legend on the Wii as I hadn't heard of it until last week (bought for a quid) But like others, I'm going to have to pick GRID. A perfect balance of arcade and sim with each car feeling uniquely different to o...

What did you want to be when you grew up?

My stepson has recently turned 15 and doesn't have a scooby doo on what he would like to do as a career. It's a hard time for a teenager when they finally realize that school wont last much longer and some growing up and decision making will soon be common place. It's hard enough to pick your subjec...

Re: Console Wars Memories

From the 16 bit era onward, I don't remember any arguments of any kind, just a little jealousy when a mate finally made the step to a new console e.g. one of my more well off friends had a Megadrive around 6 months if not longer before anyone else had a 16 bit console or computer. However, during th...

Re: Which system had the best sound?

The SID chip (C64) no question. While other chips have their high points, the SID has........character. You can recognize a C64 soundtrack instantly, just by its sound. It no doubt helped the C64 in becoming the best selling computer of its time (and of all time?) While the Spectrum had it's unique ...

Re: Best "rolling ball" game(s)

Trailblazer was on most 8-bit machines, started with C16. The sequel Cosmic Causeway is pretty good too. How did I forget Trailblazer! Loved the C16 version, couldn't really take to the C64 version which I played later. Looked nicer, but I thought the split screen was a hindrance for such a fast mo...

This sounds very similar to my tactics to going to the pub every Friday evening. You'd think after 5 years my missus may have cottoned on to this fact :D

Re: Is my PS3 on its way out?

Thanks everyone for your help, I think its now resolved but not sure for how long. If its starts playing up again then I'll look at a HD replacment. Firstly I accessed the PS3 Recovery menu and ran option 4 (Rebuild Database) Bar losing the custom XMB I had (Pac-man!) everything else seems present a...

Is my PS3 on its way out?

Hi all, Recently my PS3 slim 120G has had the odd error poping up of late and a disk check has been run on occasion but no fault found. However the problems have been with the install of Medal of Honor Front line via the Medal of Honor tier 1 edition disc. It will install so far then crash due to an...

Re: Best "rolling ball" game(s)

The first game that came to mind was Spindizzy (C64) A great game with a massive 'one more go' draw to it, if only to see the next, intricate level. Mind you it needs to be as it so f*&king hard! Wasn't there a a similar game called Gyroscope or something by Melbourne House? What about that Sonic Ga...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

Jason Bourne (The new film) While the film is fine and I have no real issues with it, it just that the whole thing is rather............pointless. A Bit like the The Boure Legacy, the film is a similar retread with Bourne on the run, Government spooks staring at monitors, while a CIA boss (aren't th...
