Re: What were the best game shops around your area..

Eighties - WHSmith,Woolies, Boots, and an imaginatively titled shop in Chesterfield called "The Computer Shop". Oh and when I lived in Glossop (up to 1984) I bought my first Speccy Game, Fighter Pilot, from the Video Vault, who advertised in Crash/SU/CVG etc. Used to rent Game and Watches from there...

Re: What retro systems interest you the most?

39 here, gaming since 1981 and am much more interested in the older systems, especially the ones I owned- ZX81, Spectrum 48 and +2, Amiga. 8/16 bit consoles don't interest me as much as I didn't own those machines, my first console was a PS1. Also like some MAME action for some hard nostalgia, and w...

Re: CBM Amiga 1200 - CF Card Reader Advice?

Some good points here... As for the cost of the Amiga - should have mentioned this earlier, that part is sorted - the whole reason this project has begun is because last week I managed to pick up a A1200 with mouse, joystick, joypad, PSU, cables and around 50 disks for a tenner! The case hasn't yell...

Re: CBM Amiga 1200 - CF Card Reader Advice?

Wow - most excellent replies guys, thanks! I'm going to go for a reader/card setup from Amigakit I reckon, nice to see a seasoned poster or two on here vouching for them which is what I was after really. I can't afford acceleration - I want to keep the project cost under £50 including the Amiga if p...

Re: Amiga 1200 questions

I wouldn't say no to the C64 if it's up for grabs - being a speccy fanboy since '82 this is an unexplored part of gaming history for me!

CBM Amiga 1200 - CF Card Reader Advice?

There seems to have been an uprising in recent weeks of interest in the Amiga - and as I've finally managed to get my hands on a stupidly cheap A1200, I want to get up and running with a CF reader. Would anyone be able to help me out with a few questions answered? Is AmigaKit the best seller, and ar...

Re: Amiga 1200 questions

Slightly off topic, but what is an Aiga 600 worth these days? I'm considering selling mine, it's unbowed but it does have the upgraded Kickstart ROM in it?

Re: I’ve just got a card reader for my Amiga600 from ebay!

Sorry to go alittle off topic but i have come across alot of these sellers on ebay who are selling the Compact Flash to IDE converters with a 4GB CF Card pre-configured with various WB setups on them for over £30 . What a rip-off, you can buy the converter and a 4GB card for about a £10, and...

Re: Dreams

I always remember my dreams, and there's a strange reason why. Never used to really have good dreams, or remember them, then in 2006 I was put on anti-depressants for a while, about 18 months. Soon after starting taking them, my dreams started to...improve? They were getting longer - it felt like I ...

Exactly the same, except it folds proteins...!

Yeah I went on last night to have a 'quick' bash on RE6 and ended up playing Daytona on the Dreamcast for about 25 minutes whilst the PS3 sorted itself out!

Re: Oh my god! Thats wasisname!

Ricky Gervais pops up in the last (or possibly second-to-last) episode of the 2nd series of Spaced. And David Walliams plays a few background characters in Alexi Sayle's Merry-Go-Round. As for cartoon voices, Jim Cummings and the late Tony Jay are the ones that I'm hearing most over the years. Davi...
