There is only one MAME emulator but there are different versions of it. Try MAME32 if your running an XP system, it comes with it's own front end and is really easy to use. Not sure about Vista compatabilty. Just put your rom files into the roms folder and make sure you read the instructions. There...

Count me in the "hates them" category. They wouldn't be so bad if they weren't quite SO large or were, at the very least, accompanied by a non-magnified version of the same screen. In the current form? Awful.

In comparison to every other magazine I read, the print is definitely smaller. At least a point or two.

Print too small?

Am I the only one that finds the print in Retro Gamer to be a tad small? I often find myself struggling to read the magazine because of this. I have no trouble reading books or other magazines - or this post as I'm typing it - so it's not like I'm blind or anything. Anybody else having this trouble?...

Ultima Feature?

Has there been any thought to doing a feature on the Ultima series of games? Loved 'em a lot as a kid - as my memory in issue #50 showed, LOL - and would love to see a full article on them...

Another in the Ridge Racer series:

Rage Racer on the PS1 - the AI cars would ram you from behind and you would slow down. If you rammed them from the back, the AI cars would rocket forward!

BTW, in the U.S., horrible marketing is what caused the Dreamcast to fail. Amen. In the US, you had game stores - literally - telling people not to buy Dreamcasts. "Wait for the PS2". "Nobody owns or wants a Dreamcast". Never mind that it was the fastest-selling console in US history - completely s...

I enjoyed the first LSL quite a bit. I played the original version of it a little bit and then played through the whole thing when Sierra redid it in 256-color VGA. That was a lot of fun. Seeing Larry's pants explode was quite hilarious :)

I have RAIDEN PROJECT (PS) but still not played it yet. Is it any good. They say it is on Gamefaqs, but then again they have a tendency to say everything is good! Raiden Project is outstanding. I played it a lot back when I still had my PS1. Raiden 3, at least the PC version, is also great. Tabe

My favorites...

For me: 1) Age of Empires II: Conqueror's Expansion - vastly improved over the original AOE2. I've probably spent more hours on this game than any other, though I haven't played it in awhile now. Hardly ever play RTS games any more. 2) Warcraft- Count me in the bunch that likes the first better than...

How many people praise Dragon's Lair as a game though? Everybody says the same things you just did - so how can it be overrated?

Another American who read this issue a couple weeks ago here: Loved it. This is easily one of the best issues of Retro Gamer in a long time. Star Wars, Klax, Streets of Rage 2, Eye of the Beholder - all spot-on. Really, really good stuff. Keep it up! Tabe p.s. Count me in the "man, that cover sucked...
