Re: Do you still have an old PC for gaming

What about running and or installing games from the original 5.25", 3.5" disks?

Are DOS emulators generally fine with that?

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 157

It has to be the Legacy of Kane/Soul Reaver series. It deserves a proper ending after Defiance.

I'd also like to see a new Sykes of Arcadia, where you can reach the higher and lower levels talked about, or vaguely used in the original.

Wanted 8Bit Atari and disk drive

Anybody got one they don't use that they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price, or swap for other stuff?

Re: What anime are you watching thread

I think the last one I watched was ether Attack on Titan, or maybe Black Butler... Or possibly Black Lagoon, I watched that fairly recently as well. What are you calling 'anime' I watched a few Netflix exclusives lately as well, but the names escape me just now... one was something about a high-scho...

Do you still have an old PC for gaming

My 386 and 486 PC's are now officially dead and chucked! I kept them alive with transplant surgery for as long as I could, but they are now no more, passed on , deceased... So it looks like an old (single core) Dell Optiplex pentium (with a CRT monitor, and TV out) is now the designated DOS machine....

Re: Retro Gaming. How far Back is your cut off point.

Cut of point!!! No such thing... I'd love to get my hands on an Edsac computer and OXO (tic tac toe) program :D Maybe the difference with me is I still have a lot of games that were bought new in the eighties right up to games for modern systems, I even have some telling colour star cartridges from ...

Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

Easily Spore, by miles... I wanted the original Spore they was supposed to be made, what I got was EAs dabbling that producedcommercial kiddy rubbish! I wanted a game like Real Spore for ages, decades... And it was announced, started, looked good, and never happened :( But am I still angry? .... We'...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 154

For me the VIC 20 feature was by far the best thing in this issue.

More stuff like this please!

Also, is it just me or is the home brew section fading away a bit again?

Re: I've got my first XBox 360. Now what?

Um, I've no idea what any of the above acronyms mean. (apart from hdmi) I did acquire a free 360 that has a broken dvd drive some time ago, but never bothered doing anything with it after I discovered how expensive it would be to even test out some XNA games I had written. So are these hackabl...

What other retro gaming forums do you visit?

The title says it all really. What other retro gaming based forums or other sites do you regularly visit?

I used to regularly look at a few, but now its only occasionally this one , and vector gaming forum...

Re: NTSC vs PAL, the poll

I still have an old CRT PAL TV that I use with an old VGA to TV converter to play MAME games on.

Apart from an arcade monitor I think it gives the best feel for MAME games, they just arn't the same on a modern TV or monitor.

Re: User-generated content

Be good if they could do a 'late' back to the 70's' section. I was also going to suggest this, as back to the eighties has finished and there is now only back to the nineties, but didn't now if there would be an audience for a 70s section in retro gamer now, as everything seems to be moving forward...
