Re: Old TV shows that no one you talk to remembers.

Here's another for you that's just sprung to mind: It was a lunchtime show on ITV that I remember being similar to Jackanory called something like We'll tell you a story presented by Christopher Lillicrap. I delivered a pizza to Christopher Lillicrap in 1998. That is just the coolest thing I've hea...

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?

I'm drinking a bottle of Heatherwood Craft Beer Co. Purple Panther Porter 5% Whilst wondering around the isles at Lidl I came across this little collection of ales from Heatherwood - a brewery new to me. Having read the blurb on the back I was intrigued to read that it was Lidl's own brewery! It is...

Williams Pinball Classics is a fantastic collection.

Dragon's Fury/Revenge on the Sega Megadrive also holds many happy memories.

Re: This is the worst game I've ever played

Jailbreak on the ZX Spectrum. Loved this in the arcade when I was younger and got so excited when I realised it was getting a release for my Speccy. Picked it up for the princely sum of £7.95 (a lot of my pocket money) in a larger than usual cardboard sleeve containing the cassette. So far so good.....

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

I found my love of gaming coming to an end a couple of years ago and at that time gave up as a reviewer for a European based website. Since then I have hardly played anything and haven't given one of the current gen consoles a second thought until recently when I bought a PS4 for work and found myse...

Re: Magazines that where paid for positive reviews

Up until a couple of years ago I was reviewing for a website that shall remain nameless (Not UK based) and had been revewing for quite a few years for them. One of my early reviews I scored a game rather low as it was pretty poor in my opinion and I received an email from the guy who looked after th...

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?

News broke yesterday that Marstons have bought Thwaites for a figure in the region of £25mil and will continue to brew Wainwright & Lancaster Bomber amongst others.

Not holding out too much hope that the Thwaites beers will ever be the same :(

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?

Cheers mate. This will be the third one that I have worked and second as bar manager. This year is our biggest festival to date with 125 different real ales on both handpull and gravity (150 casks) and over 60 different bottled beers and ciders. Last year we had over 110 casks and had sold out of ev...

Re: Instant Regret Chilli Chocolate

A few weeks ago I was tempted by a chilli chocolate porter ale by Waen Brewery.

I love my ale & am a big fan of the porter style but for me the chilli taste was just too overpowering :(

Re: Best and Worst Christmas mornings

Quite possibly my best Christmas ever (and this will be my 40th) was still the day that I was bought my Spectrum 48k+. Around the time my dad had had a serious accident and couldn't work so finances were very tight. My parents knew how much I wanted a Speccy so my mum worked for months earning next ...

Re: Best episodes of Gamesmaster?

One of the best Gamesmaster episodes was when Dave Perry failed miserably at Super Mario 64 during a challenge againg Dominik Diamond's best mate and the look on both Dave & Dominik's face afterwards
