Re: Food/Drink from the past

Does anyone remember the Alton Towers Nemesis drink? It was kind of liquorice-ey. Yes!! I used to love the stuff... http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/jamescostello/DSC01143.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/jamescostello/DSC01138.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/jamescostell...

Re: RIP Lass O'Gowrie

This is really sad  The lass has played host most years to our annual sega8bit/ SMSPower! event or get together. Here are some photos from 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013 that took place at the lass. Thanks prof peach for letting us do this! 2008 http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/jamescostello/4...

Re: what car do you drive?

This is my pride and joy, A Z4 20i, its a 2 ltr, 4 cylinder, turbo. Not very fast but fast enough for me to enjoy. Before this I had a Z4 23i, that was a 2.5 ltr straight six, no turbo. The bigger non turbo had more bhp but less torque, my new one 'feels' quicker, and less thirsty. http://i109.photo...

Re: Can you afford to collect

The price inflation has been pretty shocking. 4 years ago the most expensive a Mega Drive game got was about 15 quid, with the exception of a few choice titles. Now it seems the standard asking price for any game is about a tenner. The Super Nintendo is a complete joke - I got a collection of most ...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

I've been playing Kingdom Rush a lot lately, first couple of levels I found a bit too simple/ easy but its gets good and really gets you thinking about strategy. In a way it reminds me of playing the first CIV game, but less complex.. Specifically the war sections of CIV where you have to decide how...

Re: Can you afford to collect

I am at a stage in my collecting where most items I want are either very expensive or so obscure and rare they arent necessarily dear, just don't see much. Which means if I do see something I want I may pay slightly over the odds because it doesnt happen very offten. I have playing and collecting in...

Re: Remember renting video games from the video shop?

I have very fond memories of renting games back in the Master System/ Mega Drive era. I used to rent from the local called Astra Video, I think prices were £2 for 2 nights usually. I rented pretty much every Master System game they had in stock, I had issues with trying to save so every time I got a...

Re: The Lass o' Gowrie -NO THEME- weekend (Aug 9th)

I'm slightly worried how this is going to work as we usually use the TV's already at the Lass for our annual get together, i'm certainly not able to bring any more.. :? We usually use about 5.

Re: The Lass o' Gowrie -NO THEME- weekend (August)

The sega8bit/smspower meet up is second Sat in August (10th) at the Lass. I beleive we have the upstairs room this year though. Oh right (never get told of these things in advance), we can combine forces if you want. I like a bit of Master system action myself and have recently gotten a Master ever...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 117 - Feedback Thread

Would such an "unloved" console have its own event? Advertised on RetroCollect no less? http://www.retrocollect.com/Community/viewevent.html?eventid=49 I wonder if this is the one that about 10 people attend... Honestly, someone is a serious master system fan as they can't let one word go. Yes it i...

Re: Another one of those "I'd love to have this" threads

they cannot all be pluged in and set up at once does he have to move the whole thing to plug a different machine in? Why not? I suspect the two boxes in the bottom left corner are splitter boxes or some type of PVR/VCR units. Hence why that corner has SIX holes behind it rather than just one. I rec...
