Re: games you like that are either hated or under rated

Two slightly obscure ones (unless you're a Jag owner) Ruiner Pinball . Reviewer opinion seemed to be "not as good as Pinball Fantasies on the Miggy therefore crap". Slated but I've played it for hours and loved it. I used to really love my pinball games and couldn't see anything wrong with this at a...

Re: Limbo.

Confession time.

I got off the boat in the trial version and couldn't even work out how to jump up that little hill/incline thing. This is about 45 seconds into the game.

Re: Chrono Trigger DS

I'd be surprised if it was rare, whenever I've looked at DS games on the racks (admittedly not for a few months or so) it seemed fairly common. I have a copy but haven't got very far into it.

Re: Which interests and hobbies have you lost interest in?

I tend to hit something pretty heavy for six months then I notice that if I carry on far too long I get jaded and burn out. I did this once with non-computer gaming (wargames, RPGs etc.) and didn't touch one for about three years despite nagging from gaming mates to shift my arse. What I do now is t...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Amazon UK opened their Kindle store today - you can get public domain books for free to get with the (free) Kindle iPhone app. The weird thing is that I don't seem able to find them via Amazon's mobile site using the iPad but can OK using my PC. Logon to the Kindle app with your amazon email address...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Shame that, Missile Command was one of the first games I looked for in the App Store believing that it would be excellently suited to the iPad!

Re: What's This Game?

I agree with Neo Driftout call - the earlier game (Driftout) was just top-down IIRC.

At a push it could be Great 1000 Miles Rally (below) but it sounds more like the former TBH.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I downloaded it ASAP but only got around to Secret of Monkey Island II XBLA on Monday night having got Lego Harry Potter out of the way. This was once my favourite of the Lucasarts classics but it's since slipped down the order of most loved behind Fate of Atlantis and Monkey 1 these days. The origi...

Re: ever bought a console for 1 game ?

I bought a DC the day after playing Crazy Taxi coin-op at a bowling alley in Wolverhampton and realising I'd sunk about £18 into it in one sesh! I'm not sure it qualifies as "machine for just one game" because I was always going to buy more games but that's the closest I've come to it.

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Yeah that's the one. They are actually nothing like each other, it's just that Super 7 reminds me of E-Motion in the same way that Bejewelled 2's ambience (music, backdrop graphics) reminds me of The Dig!

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Probably nothing new here to most folks here but these are what I've been playing on the Touch: Wild West Guns - Shooting gallery game, mentioned above. Westbang - Bank Panic clone, very simple, very compulsive, also mentioned above. Fighting Fantasy : Citadel of Chaos - Fighting Fantasy book ported...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Secret of Monkey Island 2 XBLA. How annoying is it when you can't remember how to do something you've done at least a dozen times since the early 90s?

Re: Guess the game : Ultimate challenge

OK, here are three cryptic clues... 1. Chapman's French spirit is somewhat difficult 2. Some get paid to get arsey, some just do it for the love of it. 3. Pagan times go looking for rubber (Could a mod make those clues red please? The javascript in this works machine browser is locked down and I can...
