Re: school reunions

Reminds me of a story I've got. I was working in a record shop in the mid 90s and in came a lad who used to bully me in upper school, not seen him for 20 years. I ended up serving him, it was a Saturday and the queue was long so staff got whoever was next. He didn't react at all when I served him so...

Re: From The Forum issue 153 - Rare on the N64

I have to go with 'Donkey Kong 64'. Spent hours on it during a bout of illness just after it came out. My day consisted of coffee, Marlboro Lights (given up now) and 'Donkey Kong'. Massive fan of 'Banjo-Kazooie' so it was a no brainer that I was going to buy this one upon release. With the range of ...

Re: Yoshis Island - WOW!

One of the few SNES games I went out and bought when it was new. Replayed it again recently and it's still a joy to play and probably my fav platformer of all time.

Re: everdrive collecting/owning thread

I've not long got an N64 Everdrive and I was amazed at how easy it was to set up and use. I've been playing around with it and it's loaded everything I've tried so far. I have got about 80 N64 boxed carts but now all those other games that I hadn't got I don't need to hunt down. I went through the l...

Re: Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega - Indiegogo campaign

I doubt it very much, especially with a licence that Ocean had paid for. And Special FX would have been paying their employees with money provided by Ocean.

Re: Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega - Indiegogo campaign

No one who worked at Ocean owns the rights to any game they made for the company. Everyone was paid for the work and that was that. It was owned by Ocean. I guess there may have been the odd freelancer who *might* have had a clause written into their contract but knowing how things worked at Ocean, ...

Re: Batty and Ultimate connection

Look at the menu for Batty. It's almost exactly the same for the menu for Bubbler and Cyberun. All 3 written by Mark Betteridge.

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 141 Your first gaming purchase

Mine was 'Trashman' on the Spectrum. I had got the machine a few days before my 14th birthday in 1984 and had already ready made a few C60 tapes of copied games from my school mates so that I'd have something to play on it. I had already set my sights on 'Trashman' having read about it in the magazi...

Re: JXD android tablet - anyone have one & opinions?

Does anyone know how to get Populous on the Amiga to work on the JXD? I can get it loaded but can't get the pointer to move. It was mouse controlled originally yet, I think, it's trying to read the joystick, which is useless.

Any ideas anyone please?

Re: Top 5 ZX 81 games

Mazogs and 3D Monster Maze. The first home computer games that made me take notice. Spent many a rainy afternoon in the early 80s, after being on a bike ride on my Chopper, getting directions off prisoners and fighting those long armed Mazogs. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b357/mlucifersam/4Mazo...

Re: From The Forum Issue 136 - Favourite Hewson Game

Avalon or Dragontorc, I couldn't decide between the 2. But in my bedroom after school, armed with only a packet of cheesy Nik Naks and orange squash I explored their lands many times and, for a while, I was really there! :)

While I do love the Spectrum Ultimate period I loved a heap of their N64 games, and they are some of the best for that console. Easily!
