I think the Lee/Jabbar fight is in 'Game of Death', which was only part filmed at the time of Lee's death. It's a great fight and it lifts what is otherwise an awful film! Lee himself is in only a handful of scenes with his role being playd by another actor (I use the term loosely) for the majority ...

I found Tim Moore's travel writing is also very enjoyable if you like Tony Hawks. French Revolutions was particularly good. Tim Moore's work is almost always worth a read. French Revolutions, Frost on My Moustache, Continental Drifter (personal favourite) and Do Not Pass Go are all outstanding. :lo...

Great Railway Bazar by Paul Theroux.

I'm a travel book nut, but I have just read some recent fiction that I really enjoyed: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke. I'm a fan of M.R. James and this captures a similar feel of Victorian/Edwardian mystery. Quite brilliant.

The only ones I bought regularly were Your Sinclair Amiga Format Amiga Power PSW Retro Gamer Although I did buy the odd copy of C+VG from time to time. Your Sinclair was my introduction to computing magazines. Did they have a heavily armed, bad tempered teddy bear as a mascot or is my memory playing...

Ah, well, little does she know that once I have a bit of space the consoles will return!

I'm particularly inspired by some of the pictures of people's collections on that thread. Mmmmmm :) [/quote]

I don't think I could persuade Mrs Jimbob to watch it, and she speaks French! I have an abiding affection for Mark Dacascos' kung-fu Native American and the iffy cgi for the beast itself. :D It's a guilty pleasure but it's good fun, very spooky and gothic in places. Speaking of Mr Dacascos, has anyo...

I love these movies, probably more than is healthy! City Hunter is brilliantly bonkers, I think I may need to rewatch that. My personal favorite of Jackie's work is Operation Condor, Armour of God 2. The first is a little weak despite our hero nearly killing himself. The second is much better and th...

Thanks also to Woody for the kind offer. I'll PM when I'm ready to have crack at it. Further to my original post, I had a chat with my dad on why he felt the need to buy a home computer of any stripe, Speccy or otherwise. He said he felt that it was going to be important for us kids to be familiar w...

Most kind Dudley. :)
I need to invest in a decent PC, a desk to put in on and a bigger house to put the desk in before I get to that!
Current space constraints mean a work-supplied laptop is all I can stretch to at the moment!

I didn't have a lot of choice in the matter! Somewhere in the depths of the mid-80's I came home from school to find that my father had bought a 48k Speccy, blue rubber keys and all. :) Looking at the dates it must have been within the first couple of years of launch. Before this point my only expos...
