Re: North Korea

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/74251000/jpg/_74251310_74251309.jpg There we go. Apparently that cheeky advert was placed in window of a hair salon in South Ealing, London in April. A few days later two North Korean officials came in to ask why. Suffice as to say, they were shown the door. Ye...

Re: North Korea

I think alot of the power stations got destroyed in the Korean war and were never fixed. That's not the reason. If you ignore the oppressive regime for a bit, economically North Korea's economy was at one time pretty strong. Better in fact then the South going into the 1970's. There was a time when...

Re: Star Trek

Time travel episodes weren't too bad I think. The episodes I've never been fond of were the one's concerning the holodeck. Especially the ones were they get stuck in there - and they couldn't turn them off for some odd reason.

Re: North Korea

Indeed. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/imageo/files/2013/03/Koreian-Peninsula-at-Night.jpg Only the capital appears to have any power at night. It's been that way since the early 90's. Even that image is misleading as typically not all of Pyongyang is fully electrified at night, or in the day for...

Re: North Korea

There is no Wi-Fi near the North/South border. North Korea get's it's Internet via the Chinese. The link is quite limited, in fact, according to what I've read from news sources, it could have been attacked by anyone. It wouldn't need the power of another nation state to take it down. Only Kim, his ...

Re: How many of your consoles and computers broke?

CIH is an extremely old virus, which effected Win9x PC's between 1998 and 2001. Newer versions of Windows from XP onwards are unaffected. This type of virus predates BIOS restore functions on modern PCs. So if something similar was to come out now, it wouldn't kill your machine. These days 99% of vi...

Re: How many of your consoles and computers broke?

Had approximately 3 PC's (2 towers and one laptop) die spectacularly thanks to crippling viruses. The laptop was completely and utterly ruined by some nasty f****r virus called 'smitfraud c' or something like that. I have yet to find a computer that I couldn't fix due to a virus. If I can't get a P...

How many of your consoles and computers broke?

How luck or unlucky have you been with your systems over the years? Did you experience many system failures? The first machine I had problem with was the Commodore 64 in the form of the newer C64, which broke a few weeks after Christmas. I don't remember exactly what was wrong with it, I think I jus...

Who bought your computers and consoles.

I don't know about you but my first computer, a Commodore 64, was a present from my folks around Christmas 1987. My Sega Mega Drive was also a Crimbo present in 1991 when I was 13 years old. I swapped it for an Amiga 500+ in 1994. Which machines where bought for you when you were younger? Which ones...

I've got this on the PC. Play it on my 32" HDTV in 1080P. I use a 360 controller though. It also works with my Xbox One controller too. Fantastic game. It was on a 75% Steam sale. I think I only paid just over £3 for it. :D

Re: What game (if any) would you give a 0%

I remember being in a local computer game shop back in the late 80's or early 90's. Spent well over an hour in there and ending up buying D i c k Tracey on the Commodore 64. I paid the full asking price of £9.99 and oh what a turd I had wasted my hard saved money on. Giving it 0% is being generous! ...

Re: Top 25 Master System Games

Never owned a Master System, but I have played some games from the system. My favourites, in no particular order are: Gauntlet - Quite possibly the best 8-bit port of this classic arcade game. Paperboy Choplifter Wonderboy California Games Road Rash - A feat that seemed impossible, but somehow the M...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Been playing DOOM BFG Edition. Pretty cool still, but some of the graphics are looking somewhat dated now compared with the latest games and the BFG edition hasn't had a makeover either. I am playing the PC version though, with a Xbox 360 controller via my TV in 1080p and it does still look good tho...
