Anyone got an SSD drive in their PC?

Seriously, the prices of these things have massively dropped over the past six months. So much so that I'm contemplating an SSD (Solid State Drive) for my PC in the coming weeks. I'll still keep my 2TB HDD, but it will be used for games video and picture storage. The SSD will be for Windows. I'm thi...

What's your Tablet?

How many of you guys have a Tablet and what type? Anyone got more than one? My collection has got a bit silly now and I think I need to stop buying! I own an iPad Air 32GB, Google Nexus 7 32GB, Linx 10 Windows tablet, and my most recent purchase of last week was a Microsoft Surface 3. The Surface wa...

Re: Windows 10 . Who upgraded today?

Upgraded early this morning. I had to do it manually because apparently my upgrade wasn't ready yet. Tried to do it via the Windows Update workaround, but that didn't work, so I did it via the link MS sent me in an a email. The link allows you to burn your own Windows 10 disc, or you can do just the...

Re: Fallout 4

The in game preview presentation from Bethesda was fantastic. I really like the new engine, it looks great. And it's great that the protagonist finally has his or her own dialogue this time around. What also won me over was the in-game building and gun modification. You can build your own house and ...

Re: Another great tablet useful for retro gamers

Another feature that works well is game streaming on Steam. Tested this out on Sunday and it was as if I was playing the game natively.

Re: Another great tablet useful for retro gamers

I'll get a 64Gb SD card this week and put the emulators on that. Plus, these days you can get quite a few mobile applications that do not require installs, so the low internal storage won't be an issue. Actual use is impressive for such a small device. It can boot from cold in less than 30 seconds. ...

Another great tablet useful for retro gamers

So this week I finally thought 'what the hell' and purchased a Linx 10 tablet from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Linx-Tablet-Z3735F-storage-Windows/dp/B00O636WPY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431459497&sr=8-1&keywords=linx+10 Pretty impressive, especially considering the price:-£160 This tablet isn't ju...

Re: NVIDIA Shield Android TV Console, anyone?

The 16Gb does seem a bit of a drawback I must say. However most games should be transferable to external storage. I think the Shield console supports 128Gb SD cards, does it not?

As for RAM, that won't be a problem, it's got 3Gb.

Why all the hate for Android?

Re: NVIDIA Shield Android TV Console, anyone?

A little unfair to compare this to Ouya, Ouya was funded by Kickstarter, Shield is NVIDA funded, with all the billions that go with it. Maybe it will fail, but remember this is NVIDA's third generation of Shield hardware. If it wasn't sucessful, surely they wouldn't be releasing this, right? As for ...

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

I've just looked at the compatibility list and I'm not impressed. My Sega Virtua Tennis isn't listed, neither is Wipeout 2048. The Vita version of Ridge Racer isn't listed either, although the PSP game is.

When is the streaming service coming to Europe to play PS3 games via a subscription?

Hmmm...

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

What about the PlayStation TV device. Is it any good? I've got a Vita - well actually my little nephew borrowed it, over four months ago, gotta get it back. And now I thinking about getting the TV, potentially trading my Vita too. Should I?

NVIDIA Shield Android TV Console, anyone?

Anyone Interested in one of these beauties?

From what I've watched from the GDC 2015 showing of the NVidia Shield Android TV, it has massive potential.

Re: Best ever 8 bit (micro) arcade conversion

I was pretty taken with Spy Hunter on the C64 back in 1985 on my brother's 'Bread Bin' Commodore 64. I really don't remember how far I got, or if I was even playing it properly, I was only 7 at the time. It still plays well today. Some other 8-bit conversion favourites on my 8-bit platform of choice...

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/74251000/jpg/_74251310_74251309.jpg There we go. Apparently that cheeky advert was placed in window of a hair salon in South Ealing, London in April. A few days later two North Korean officials came in to ask why. Suffice as to say, they were shown the door. Ye...
