Ourun 2 Xbox

Hi guys While reading on the net about a Sega Arcade game called Scud Race I found that apparently the tracks for this game are unlockable in Outrun 2 on the original Xbox as is a version of the Arcade original Outrun (although its not as good as MAME). Now I can unlock Outrun (and play it) and I've...

Re: Emulators VS. The Real Stuff

the problem I find with emulation is that you can have every game ever released sitting there on your PC, but you only play a game for 2 mins at a time then skip onto another one. With the real thing I am more likely to spend more time playing it. Plus it's exciting finding an old game out "in the ...

Re: does anyone remember this TV advert from the 90s?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure I've got it in my TV Advert archive on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/Matty112uk

You'll have to go through them though as I don't have individual ads just the whole ad breaks. If I don't have it this guy will http://www.youtube.com/user/col2006ie he's a UK TV advert legend!

Re: Emulators VS. The Real Stuff

To save wasting unecessary space. Most arcade games had a load of bootlegs and variations over time. Each of those related games shares about 95% of its files with just a few being different for each variation. Rather than make every rom contain the same files over and over again effectively meanin...

Re: Emulators VS. The Real Stuff

Talking about making a compromise, I've found emulating vintage computers to be a bit of a pain in the backside, emulating the 8 bit and 16 bit consoles is pretty easy though. MAME isn't too hard, but sorting out some of the Roms can be a pain, why do they list a bootleg and a rom that looks complet...

Re: Emulators VS. The Real Stuff

The real thing is great and all that but I just don't have the room for the original machines. I think I could get hold of a C64 again from eBay, but would it even work with an HDTV? I don't have any old CRT displays, my guess is it wouldn't look the same now. I prefer arcade games to consoles, emul...

When I said delectable, she was very pretty back in the 80's. She does indeed work for QVC now. She was born in 1959, so she's now 50 this year.

A TV programme from the 80's bugging me.

Hi, I've been going through some of my old Retro Gamer magazines and I recently re-read about the making of Paperboy by Atari. It was an interersting read and after I finished I suddenly remembered a TV programme that used to be aired on a Saturday evening in the 80's where contestants would play Pa...

Thanks for that info, much appreciated :D I have managed to sort something out with Akari and Guerrilla War, I disabled the rottery control and set the shoulder buttons as left and right rotation. Decreasing the sensitivity of the rotation makes it playable but its far from perfect. I'm running Mame...

Mame button mapping

I have a question regarding mapping buttons on Mame. The things that are confusing me are: Paddle Device: Whats this? Dial Device: Was this a stick that turned? ADStick Device: Whats this? Now most games are easy to configure but games like Ikari Warriors, Guerilla War are very difficult. These two ...

Some more Retro TV ads for you

Hi

I have some TV adverts that I have been uploading this evening. At the moment I have about four and should have about seven or eight by the end of tonight.
