Re: Spectrum games

Atic Atac: Its okay but what the hell am i suppose to be doing? You've got to collect three parts of a key to get out of the haunted house using the door to the right of the start screen. There are several other small keys that let you open other doors elsewhere in the house and a bunch of other it...

Hmmm, I think it's mainly that she heard it came in pink ;) Haha. That doesn't surprise me. Perhaps you should tell her that the Eee PC comes in pink too and looks rather less like a toy? Web surfing (Re, shopping!) and E-mail, chat, facebook etc, and some basic notes/spredsheets are about all she ...

I'm surprised Civilization didn't rate higher; I think it's one of the best games on any format and the ST version is quite respectable apart from a few irritating bugs. I also played Populous 2 quite a lot, but I wouldn't really put it in the same league; it's more about out-clicking your opponent ...

Has anyone got an Elonex One? I was thinking of getting one of these as part of christmas for the wife. I've not got one but I've had a go on it and, whilst it's certainly not bad for the money, I don't think I'd be inclined to give one to my wife as a present; it's bug-ugly, slow and very much the...

Befor I type this I'm going to say I know nothing about how a computer actually works other than the very basics (so don't all flame me to death :) ) If the Pandora has roughly 256 times more RAM than the original Amiga 500 did, does this not mean it has more than enough to serve it's purpose? Sure...

Right, I've just looked up eeePC specs. Its very close at that price point. Around £200 for a Pandora with 600Mhz CPU Vs £170 for an eeePC with a 630Mhz CPU. Yes, there are eeePCs of higher spec, but at much higher cost so you're looking at laptops for competition, not Pandora. Just looking at th...

I'll rephrase (because I like the screen size on eePC). How does Pandora compare to one of those in performance and spec terms? In terms of spec, it's not even close with only a 600MHz CPU and 128MB RAM, although it might give some of the lower end netbooks (e.g. Elonex One, OLPC XO-1) a run for th...

A lot smaller.

Let me put it this way: I wouldn't replace my Eee PC with one, but I might consider replacing my Palm TX with it.

I really don't like the way they've tried to cram both a joypad and a keyboard into the limited space on the machine. Either one or the other with USB support for what's missing would have been much preferable to me. That said, all handhelds are going to be a compromise of some sort and if it proves...

Both Lemmings and F1GP would be in my top ten. :) I'd guess it's easy to look back harshly on F1GP, and old 3D games generally, given that we practically expect a 60fps or better framerate for similar games now. However it was always a compromise between speed and quality of graphics on the limited ...

How the hell is the PC Engine 8-bit? Well, the main reason is the 8-bit CPU at the heart of it; the MSX range from the MSX2 onwards (and certainly the Turbo R) and Amstrad CPC Plus series are both 8-bits as well despite being able to lightly toast the NES, SMS and the "big three" home computers on ...

Well you didn't say they had to actually exist, or anything...
In that case I'll go for:
Bandersnatch
Eye Of The Moon
Trials Of Therion

Preferably all enhanced versions for the ZX Spectrum Loki.

I don't believe I've ever bought an arcade conversion for a 16 or 32 bit machine, so I'll just do assorted 8-bit systems:

Gameboy: R-Type
Spectrum: Moon Cresta
Amstrad CPC: Gryzor
Commodore 64: Bubble Bobble

Re: Metallica's new album - What do you think?

Is it worth getting as your first Metallica album?, i.e. mine as am just getting into them no, master of puppets first, get everything else last  While I totally agree that Puppets is their greatest (with Ride the Lightning a close second) I don't think many would dispute that the black album...
