In the interests of not applying double standards here, would anyone who doesn't find it offensive care to post up the phone numbers for their grandparents? I'm sure we could have an absolute riot leaving them obscene messages and posting them up on the internet somewhere. Any takers? (Please not, I...

Brand has now resigned. I expect it was a case of jumping before he got pushed. Given that he's got his fingers in a lot of other pies, I doubt his career will suffer that much though. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Ross though. I doubt that he'll want to go, or the BBC will want to los...

Whilst he appeared to get away with it back then, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the book thrown at him this time. For what? Sach's isn't pressing charges (not least because getting any kind of conviction worth a damn would be pretty much impossible). I wasn't so much thinking of the police but...

He got into hot water just a few months back by making a prank call to the emergency services in the name of comedy which was both tasteless and disruptive. Isn't it a criminal offence to waste the emergency services' time? Or was that just a proposal? Calling 999 for a laugh is just sick, what if ...

The problem I have is that this isn't the first time Brand has pulled this sort of trick. He got into hot water just a few months back by making a prank call to the emergency services in the name of comedy which was both tasteless and disruptive. However, he managed to talk his way out of that at th...

I'd guess it reduces down to:

Whatever you grew up with: 10/10
Whatever those people you used to argue with in the playground had: 0/10

Ah, that's more like it. Five great games there that all really show the ST at its best. I don't think Stunt Car Racer was quite as brilliant back in the day as F1GP, but then again whilst racing car simulation has been honed down to a fine art there's been nothing quite like it since so it stands o...

Given that the PSP has around five times the CPU power (and the Pandora will have around ten times) I don't see how you can honestly say that the size of the homebrew scene the machine has is the main factor. What has that got to do with anything? My reply was purely to your comment that—and I qu...

No, but you can emulate some early 80s games with MarcaDS. Generally speaking, the DS lacks the CPU power to emulate anything beyond the 8-bit era. It's more down to the emulation scene being small and with few programmers that don't have much time. Neo DS shows what the DS is capable of, playing m...

They had an Eee PC in Morrisons on offer for £199 with 1gb ram (advertised like it was bargain of the year). It looked really nice but I'm not sure how much of a great deal it is as they only mentioned the 1gb ram spec and nothing else. Apparently it's the 900 (900 MHz Celeron M, 1GB RAM, 16GB SSD...

I'll not hear a bad word against Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake, but modern FPS games are indeed crap.

However America's Army and Nexuiz are still worth every penny that I spent on them. :P

EA rarely make poor games these days ; and don't forget Syndicate is part of EA's heritage being one of their own games Looking forward to this one , although there is the distinct possibility we will only see a port from 360 or PS3 on PC - or maybe not at all That's not strictly true. Although Syn...

I bet 90% of home users never leave home with their laptop though. I agree. That's largely because most home laptops are too bulky and fragile to be used comfortably on the move. I certainly wouldn't take mine anywhere where there's not going to be a desk and a power supply at the other end. The Ee...

The EEEPC was an early one with the speakers at the side of the screen which was one of the major gripes we had. TBH though, if I was buying something like that, I would still go with a small form factor laptop rather than a webtop or whatever they are known as because of all the extras that go wit...
