I know it's pretty bad, but do you genuinely think it's worse than the likes of Bridge It and The Galactic Plague?

Re: Finally got an Atari... any suggestions?

MULE, Archon and Boulder Dash are three more classic Atari 8-bit games. They've all been converted to other formats, where you might well have bumped into them, but the originals are well worth checking out.

Re: Muscle March (Bonkers new Wii game!)

Something tells me that this will be one of those games that never reaches PAL country.

No regrets here; my other half is playing World of Goo on it as I type. :D

Oh, I dunno. Maybe we could just go back through the thread and write one for him. So far, he's mentioned Halo, Guitar Hero, GTA, Bioshock, Gears Of War and Mass Effect. By extrapolation, I guess we could just look at the remainder of the top sellers for the 360.

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

I don't suppose you've ever seen the film The Wizard? That sums up what 8-bit era was all about quite nicely. Video games as something you can play to relax with wasn't really concept at that point, they were generally meant to make you build up a sweat. There are still a good number of games of th...

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

I'm well aware that Nintendo still have top selling mainstream games such as Zelda and Mario. 2.65 million games sold isn't really a flop though, particularly seeing as it wasn't a budget title. Perhaps flop is too strong a word, but it's certainly not been anything like as much of a hit as Wii Spo...

You want facts, look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_Wii_video_games The top 3 selling Wii games are: Wii Sports - 45.71 million (bundled) Wii Play - 22.98 million (comes with a second Wii-mote) Wii Fit - 18.22 million So, yes, the Wii is definitely reaching out to a new mark...

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

Who on here owns a Wii as their only or main current gen game system? I don't think there will be all that many. Me. Well, perhaps not strictly as I also play PC games a lot, but it's certainly the only console system that I've got. But in video gaming terms what will there be to remember? What Wii...

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

my girlfreind calls the wiimote, a wand. we had to replace it, so we went back to asda, and she went 'i need to return this wand' to the guy, and rather than correct her he just went and fetched one. Funnily enough, but there is a Wii-mote replacement called the Wand: http://ces.cnet.com/8301-19167...

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

Duck Hunt, NES.... now please stop talking bollocks  Duck Hunt deserves credit for being the first (popular) lightgun game, but lightgun games since then? Well not really they're all pretty much the same thing. Point Blank? Time Crisis? ... or Virtua Cop or Operation Wolf for that matter. Lig...

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

The PS2 had the quiz game Buzz as well so fair enough. A couple of party games here and there is fair. Microsoft has even copied the concept of the Eyetoy, though I'm not sure why as it wasn't exactly a raging success. Over ten million people bought them, which doesn't sound too bad to me. There wa...

Nope, but then again my transition to 3D games began in 1982 with 3D Monster Maze.

Re: Does your blood boil when non-gamers discuss video games?

So where does this leave the likes of SingStar and Lips? You have to face it, Sigma, you have no argument here. Maybe on 360 forums or whatever, but not here. Common sense exists here. Those would represent Microsofts attempt at trying to draw some of the new super casual gaming market away from th...
