I think with a lot of the sealed-only completeist collecting, the games themselves don't really matter that much.

It's that weird compulsive thing that seems to take hold of some men, it could just have easily been Stamps, Train numbers, Dinky Toys, etc. It's just these that these men chose games.

I've been flitting between: Persona 3 (PS2) : Fun and quirky JRPG alternating between school during the day, and fighting monsters by night. It's got that definite "just one more day" quality to it. Mythos Beta (PC) : It's Diablo 2 distilled and poured into an MMO, even down to having little blue im...

Some potentially good games here, but the one I'm most looking forward to is Left 4 Dead.

I also think everyone should have the same class of car. Trying to beat a truck with a car in the destruction derby was ridiculous. definitely a good idea...a truck amnesty should be declared. Yeah, some events are much better when everyone uses the same class, the host can enforce this in the opti...

Gregory Horror Show (PS2)

I had a quick go and collected the first couple of souls. I like the style and presentation of the game a lot, I'll be giving it some proper attention when I've completed the other PS2 games I'm currently playing.

I recently discovered Mr. Robot on PC. It's a really charming and fun isometric 3D adventure game with retro roots, that merges platforming and puzzles with RPG style turn based combat. It's free to play on Gametap. review: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=157682 screenshots: http...

I really hated Matchday II on the C64, all my matches against my brother would always devolve into a game of keepie uppie on the goal line as the attacker and keeper took turns heading or hitting the ball back up in the air. It doesn't look like the other versions were much better. Once Emlyn Hughes...

Even Sonic Rush on DS, which is supposed to be a 'decent' Sonic game was disappointing to me. It was still far too on-rails. There only seemed to be one route to the end. At least in the old school sonic games there was some exploration to be done, and be rewarded with extra lives, etc. You can't re...

I would recommend
Jetpac Refuelled
Pacman: Championship Edition

They're both updates rather than straight conversions of the classic games, but in my opinion they're two of the best games on the marketplace.

I'm making the effort to complete Ico on PS2. I've started and then abandonned it for no real reason too many times, which is a shame because it's a genuinely great game. The castle is just amazing, it takes my breath away. I got stuck on the waterfall section last time I played it - at that annoyin...

I've only just started to like JRPGs now they're beginning to get past the whole random battle thing. Being able to see the enemies and chose to avoid or attack them makes a big difference. I've tried playing FFVII a couple of times but I just end up playing for an hour or so and never going back. B...
