Re: Favourite Neo Geo Games

WOW! Nice contribution  I think you'll find a lot of folk on here have played far more than 10 NeoGeo titles! Even Super Sidekicks! ;) Anyway........... 1 Metal Slug 2 Neo Turf Masters 3 The Last Blade 2 4 Garou: Mark of the Wolves 5 Metal Slug 3 6 Neo Drift Out 7 Magical Drop 3 8 Samurai Sho...

Re: Favourite Neo Geo Games

Good luck getting a stack of legitimate top tens - I doubt there are many gamers on this particular forum who have played 10 Neo Geo games in depth........but that's the cynical side of me and no doubt this thread will get 300 responses to prove otherwise. Bit surprised Super Sidekicks 2 (or 3) isn'...

Re: What Arcade games have you completed?

Completed Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (@ Tower Park, Poole, for the record) arcade game in March 1992 with 3 other friends.

Did take advantage of whacking the buttons when the character died to gain extra (and ultitmately infinite) credits, though.

Re: Overrated Games?

Tomb Raider and any of the Final Fantasy titles. Granted, i'm not a fan of those genres anyway (as a rule) but i've sat down on numerous occasions to give them one more go and I always come away wondering what the fuss was/is about. I think the annoyance with Tomb Raider goes back to 1997 when the s...

Re: What machines did you want but couldn’t have?

Way back in the midst of time the Neo Geo AES was treated like some sort of mythological creature on our school playground and i've still to get my dizzy fingers on one. I did however pick up a CDZ on Ebay a few years ago but quite frankly breathed a huge sigh of relief that I had paid only a tenner...

Re: 09/09/09 - Happy 10yrs Dreamcast!!!

Loved my Dreamcast back in the day (Imported Japanese one in late 99) and equally loved the slimline white CD cases with the hint of orange on them.

Didn't love the PAL Dreamcast cases - neither did I particularly appreciate Sega's Saturn game boxes.

But apart from that.......

Re: Is 'retro gaming' more about the age of games, or the style?

Anything which is still available brand new in a high street store for me doesn't count as retro - for this reason I wouldn't personally class the PS2 as retro, quite yet. As for games - Shadow Complex is a hark back to the style and feel (ish) of a retro title as is Geometry Wars (amongst many, man...

Re: Championship Manager or Football Manager?

Ah I didn't quite read the original post which states you are aware of the franchise split.......5 minutes wasted there. Doh! .......but in saying that there is the reason why Football Manager is superior.......the brains behind it are the same people who brought us the original CM games. I think it...

Re: Championship Manager or Football Manager?

In layman's terms the guys behind the original Championship Manager games (Sports Interactive - Paul & Oliver Collyer) left Eidos in 2004, took the source code from the CM games with them and rebranded the game as 'Football Manager' under a new publisher (Sega). This left Eidos without a game and wi...

Re: Zool on console.

I'd just whizz on by Ebay way and pick up an Amiga for £25, quite frankly.

.......Unless the great machines prices have significantly gone up since I left the UK.

Re: Favourite Retro Mag?

Picking a favourite? I suspect i'm taking the question rather too seriously but I can't help thinking that it would depend entirely on what era we were knocking about in. In saying all that, publications that I hold a rather special nostalgic place for in my heart are as follows: Games-X Zero The On...

I should add that i'm actually bordering on obsessed with Little Big Planet on the PS3 at the moment. I can't believe I had this game for months on end but only started to play it yesterday.

Re: Online Username Thread for PS3/360/Wii

I'm more than happy to pitch up with fellow forumites for a dose of current gen gaming - you'll more than likely find me on CoD 4 and WaW on the 360.......PS3 wise I'm currently on Battlefield 1943 and Burnout Paradise.
